This video did ALOT better than I expected. So thanks for the support! I'm going to try my best to get all of the comments, I probably can't respond to them all, but just know I'm reading them. I don't feel like self promoting tbh, so uh thanks for watching and have a good one.

Ur point on Game Key Cards is spot on: it’s not that Nintendo is in any way “taking away physical games,” they are in fact trying to make sure that not only is a product that does not have the game physically on the cartridge (and these come exclusively from third parties) is clearly labeled, but ALSO that the player STILL has a physical item to trade, sell, or give away. It’s not “great,” but it’s a clear step up from being fully digital, which was the alternative. Nintendo created a compromise in the interest of being PRO CONSUMER, and people hated them for it. Ridiculous.

I don't mind game key cards that much because I can still lend it to a friend. I can still sell it after I played it if I don't want it anymore. The thing that I hate the most is code in a box, it's the most useless concept.

I played a Switch Lite for 5-6 years. I invested in a Switch 2 purely as an upgrade to replace my failing system. And I don’t regret it one bit.

Yes, for me the Switch 2 accidentally stumbled into first place. Specially after PC handhelds got so expensive. And as someone who doesn't get as much time to game as before I appreciate not having to tweak settings, change compatibility layers (For some games on SteamOS), not having to fight with the game when switching from TV-docked to handheld mode because the native resolution change was drastic, returning from sleep crashing my games, etc. I appreciate and love the openness of my Steam Deck but the Switch 2 just makes gaming on it a lot easier in general.

The hate cloud for the Switch 2 was pretty thick at launch, it even got me a bit, but I'm glad a family member gifted me the system anyway. Its been great and definitely agreed on GKCs. Game key discs have been around for a decade+

It’s crazy how much the consensus can change in only a year

I never understood the irrational level of anger at the initial price of the system or $80 MKW. Both choices seemed like good business decisions at the time given the climate. Credit to Nintendo for being firm in their plan while also towing the towing the line between good business practices and satisfying consumers so well. They get a lot of unnecessary flack but have the foresight to stay the course and have weathered the storm well. Respect to you for actually coming out and vocalizing your changed opinion and not staying on the hate train. You've gained a new subscriber for ur ability to think critically.

I got the Switch 2 bundle with Mario Kart at launch for $500. I am so glad I did. I am so looking forward to playing Ocarina of Time next month. I have been replaying Tears of the Kingdom at 60fps and it's glorious.

I never got how people were mad at GKC when publishers used to just put a one time redeemable download code previously. At least now you have the game attached to something and you can lend it etc, instead of a piece of paper with some unusable numbers.

As for the online bricking and console bricking, since you said we could share more information on the topic, there are a lot of people who did get the entire system bricked, not just online. Sometimes it was for using MIG cartridges (putting the data of all their cartridges on one giant cartridge so they wouldn't have to take their games in and out of the system a lot, I imagine some probably some made copies for preservation purposes), but because a small number of people decided to use that as a tool for piracy, the console can now detect non-Nintendo cartridges and brick the console for them. Whether or not that's justified I think is up to the opinion of each person. The other crack-down was also piracy related for copied cartridges (one-to-one, not MIG) but the problem with these bans in particular is that it would detect if two game ID's were in use at the same time, and would ban either one of them or both of them. So people who legitimately bought used games from GameStop, Ebay, etc probably even renting via GameFly too, not knowing that (or even IF) the person who owned it beforehand copied it, they'd get screwed over and bricked, and according to Nintendo's contract it does not matter if you have proof that you legitimately own a game. While there have been select cases of Nintendo hearing out the victims of the latter, it hasn't happened often. Worse, that detection system is prone to glitches, and earlier this September hundreds of people were auto-banned despite being innocent (ironically a lot of the victims were little kids who owned only a handful of games), and it took Nintendo two whole days to remedy that, and while that was online-only it does prove that mass-bricking innocent gamers is possible. I think the policy should be online bans only, and customers should have the right to contest bans with proof they legitimately owned (or rented) a game.

As for Game Key Cards, I'm not mad at Nintendo themselves for it anymore, they did it to help Indie titles get physical releases without burdening those small studios with the cost of cartridges sometimes costing as much or more than the game itself. Hades II couldn't have had a physical release without it. What pisses me off is that this acommodation meant for smaller studios is being abused by AAA studios that can afford it. I also think that if a game is going to be sold as an exclusive to the Switch 2, it should be required to have a true physical release. Like Pokopia. Pokopia is never on another console, and Nintendo promised their exclusives would always be physical, so Koei Tecmo should have been held to the same standard. And perhaps there is a way Nintendo could incentivise AAA studios to put their games on cartridges, but so far I haven't thought of a way to do that.

Switch 2 is a fantastic console, I also own one alongside my gaming PC, and like you most of my gaming has been on Switch 2 since I got it on launch day. Perhaps part of that is because I finally have a monitor I can dock it with, I often played my Switch 1 at my desk but did it less and less in 2023-25 with my eyes getting worse. It's been nice catching up on what I've missed, and most of Nintendo's titles just evoke happiness and joy in a way no one else can.

In a seriousness, i bought the damn alarm clock because i have trouble waking up 😂😂

I have a ps5 but I can’t always go on it so when I got he switch 2 it made gaming enjoyable having the handled brings back the psp vita and 3ds that me used to love and enjoy. And having to play so many games while another watches tv and or plays on it I can still enjoy my games especially visual novels. Especially when some say the games are not good on to some extent I played the demo of stellar blade on the ps5 and tried it on the switch and pre ordered the game especially because the developers care i also  playing street fighter 6 and re8,9 I find having a certain amount of screen that my eyes can see is easier to play because of motion sickness so the switch 2 is amazing.

I got mine preordered when first announced and now I have I library of 205 games so far and it’s only gonna grow ns2 is the future who has time as an adult to always be home and play meanwhile where ever I go I’m gaming when I have a chance 😂

Im not a fan of game key cards but i think its great to have the option over just digital.

Most PS5 and Xbox SERIES discs work exactly the same as game Key Cards anyway, Nintendo was just transparent about exactly what it was.

5:05 Mario Odyssey had a 50% sale during the holiday season last year

Yes Switch 2 console bans only block online services, but it's not from "hacking." The only reported cases of bans happening are from people using piracy tools like the Mig Switch (which is designed for the Switch 1) or using a real game cartridge that was copied to a Mig switch (and attempted to connect to online services). However, many of these people initially reported getting banned and left out that they used the MIG switch (a Nintendo Switch flash cartridge/the Nintendo switch equivalent to an R4 card) on the Switch 2. The only real risk for people who have done nothing wrong are for people who purchase a real used physical Switch 1 game that the purchaser did not know was copied to a MIG switch and having the seller/pirate go online with the same cartridge ID at the same time as the buyer/the person with the legitimate copy (which is still not good but it's not really possible for Nintendo to detect who bought a legitimate game from pirates as opposed to people who are just pirating games). Mind you, this problem would not exist if the MIG switch did not exist.

Apart from a couple of userland exploits which can't do much (almost can't do anything) to games, there are no (publicly available) hacks for the Switch 2 console and thus no hacks for the games which would allow skins or cheats.

I havent played my pc in like 2 months when i decided to go on a pokemon game streak from arceus to violet to za and then fire emblem. I dont think any publisher can really compete with nintendo if you are interested in more than Mario

I remember being slightly confused on the game-key card outrage. People were acting like it was an evil new concept Nintendo had developed, and I was like “I mean yeah it sucks but have Sony and Microsoft not been doing exactly this for years now?”

I just didn’t get why people were acting like this was a Nintendo-exclusive issue that they deserved more flack for than the competition. Like you said, at least they have the decently to make it abundantly clear that the download has to happen, unlike the competition.
