The platform is the Cove Point LNG terminal. The storage tanks are in the hills inland. This facility has been controversial since it was built around 50 years ago. The terminal is so brightly-lit that for a while the USCG actually shut down Cove Point Light, until public outrage got that decision changed.

That light and I have a long history. My family had a summer cottage in the little beach community south of the light. In the paint scheme my grandparents chose you’d have noticed it, bright pink and right on the beach. It’s funny, when my wife was a little girl living up the Patuxent river she remembers that cottage from family boat trips.

The light is now maintained by the marine museum in Solomon’s.

I used to have 2 beagles but I’m down to 1 now. My youngest beagle got bone cancer and passed away.😢 My other beagle is 16 years old and is having memory problems and is starting to lose his vision. He can still see but not that good. Beagles are very good and loyal dogs. Seeing your dog brings back so many good memories.

My Daddy got my brother and me two Beagle puppies when I was about 13. I’ve pretty much had a beagles since then but most of the ones I got were dropped off. No one around ever claimed them and we told everyone and asked them to ask around also but later I realized they probably dropped them off because maybe they weren’t as good as they should be for the rabbit hunters. They take that very serious, training the beagles but they were all perfect for me. I’ve got alittle beagle now that came here about 4 yrs ago. Took me a month of sweet talking her for her to let me pet her. Men really scare her so it’s untelling what Ruby went through. My husband, son and Dad finally won her over but it took a while and they have to be real gentle with her. Our beagle, Ruby is very delicate and I love her so much.

People pay good money to ride a roller coaster. We got to find you some 1/2 nylon for an appropriate anchor line that’s a must do. Great little hide out there for sure.

I was kayaking off Cape Canaveral and started to take water over the gunnels of the kayak about 2 miles from shore. So I know what waves too high look like. Glad I made it back!!!
