Hi Brenton, My name is Terry and my Wife's name is Teresa. We remember the time you had just started working on your dream at the Marina in Ontanogon. You had just purchased the Boat and were stripping it down to bare bones. You where telling us the whole story of what you're plans where to fix the boat up and start your own utube channel. We would like to congratulate you on what a fine Job you have done accomplishing your dream! If you ever get up to Saxon harbor which is where we have our boat it would be nice to chat with you. God bless, and Congratulations again. Terry and TC. Slip#50π
Brenton, just an FYI, when my dad bought that big houseboat we had, it had an aluminium hull. The companies that built all of those boats, they covered the underwater hull with Coal Tar Epoxy. It doesn't totally eliminate all bottom growth, but it mostly did so. It didn't completely stopped the Zebra Mussels, but they didn't grow as much if the hull was not coated with it. It also controlled algae growth too. Just offering up the information if you ever thought about painting Beagle Shanty's bottom.
Had to watch this today....yesterday seen it posted....after mushroom hunting yesterday. I could barley stay awake to watch your other video. So this one i am watching before I go out....thanks for sharing
Light house nut here as well! Boating 35 years in the Detroit River and lake Erie and still go out just to do a lap around the Detroit River Light. Built in the 1800s. We were up in Georgian bay in 1991 with 5 trailer boats. My friends had befriended the caretaker of the Cove Island Light house. We went over and got a tour, climbed to the top. Lost all the video and any pics I had for some reason, early 8MM Digital Vid cam. It was the gentlemans last year. He retired and no longer anyone there. The generator room engines were works of art. Black Porcelain and polished brass.
Cap'n Rick, Port of Lewes, Delaware, Brandon after you pop into Annapolis, Md (noisy and extremely expensive) you can go straight across the bay to Eastern Bay behind Kent Island and take the Miles River up to St. Micheles . Anchor in Foggs Cove. There is a nice dingy dock around the other side of the maritime museum . It.s just past the Crab Claw restaurant. There is a pathway up to town. The museum has a Screw Pile Lighthouse you can go up in. I have belonged to this museum since 1965. There is usually a stream of boats that leave Annapolis and head for St. Micheals every weekend.
Deltaville, VA. Is a nice community. I kept my sailboat there back in 2007/2008. I enjoyed being able to ride my bicycle from the marina to the grocery store, Ace Truevalue Hardware and several Marine parts stores. There was a nice Pizza place as well.π€πππβ΅π§π
I'm a Minnesotan, but my father was from the Chesapeake. Elliott Island. We still have land there. Just north of Smith island. Best crabbing around. They should almost be in season ! Good luck on your voyage !
I take my little Jack Russell mix with me everywhere too. I went to Petco and fitted him with a full body harness with a handle on the back. Makes it super easy to get him into a vehicle or on a boat. Just pick him up like a tiny briefcase.
Brent, you'd be surprised by that bayshore area of Eastern Virginia. Some pretty cheap, remote land there. Surprised it hasn't already developed into an expensive, hot coastal real estate mecca yet. I'm guessing it stays so rural there because there are no high-speed roads that go through it; it's just all small, meandering backroads. Hidden coastal gem.
As we come south on are adventure from New York to the Florida Keys on our Corsair 880 Sport Trimaran, we've noticed a lot of loopers seating idle, maybe waiting to see if gas and diesel prices will be coming back down. We are in Georgetown, South Carolina, we have stayed out in the blue water quite a bit to take advantage of the wind and sail as much as possible and not have to burn any fuel... Even if we do have to motor, the Yamaha 9.9 outboard on this boat only burns about 1/2 gallon of fuel per hour at 60% power and will push the boat along at 6 to 7 mph....
