The Clash was one of the biggest influences on the Punk rock era. They were intense, political & intelligent. Incredible pieces of music that will become part of your life. They are from London. They have a many other songs that you may want to listen to: London Calling, Know Your Rights, Rock the Casbah, etc. Lyrical geniuses, to boot! Thanks for sharing this one!

London Calling album changed popular music forever.

I always interpreted it as there’s trouble in the relationship. Some nights - if he stays over, they’re going to fight. But if he leaves to avoid the fight for the evening, she’ll be even madder. So he’s at a stalemate. And he’s wondering if the relationship is salvageable. So he wants her to tell let him know if he should stay or go.

"I Fought The Law". A life lesson.

Dance floors still go crazy over this song. Next you should check out Rock the Casbah & London Calling if you want more of The Clash. Cheers & Peace Out! ✌️

" ROCK THE CASBAH " by THE CLASH an 80s Classic 🎸🎶 definitely next reaction

I worked security at that concert. I was one of the guys in the red jackets. Oct 12 - 13 1983. Shea stadium. Great times

I always interpreted this song as referring to a relationship not a “one night stand”. 🤷🏼‍♀️

“The only band that matters”

Welcome to classic British punk rock

The Clash's Train in Vain is on my forever top 10 list!! It never ever gets old!❤

"Rock The Casbah" should be next.

Joe Strummer's Spanish backing vocals reflect his global background. He was born John Graham Mellor on August 21, 1952, when his father, a diplomat, was stationed in Ankara, Turkey. After The Clash broke up Strummer had a couple acting roles and musical credits before forming the very experimental band the Mescaleros around the turn of the century.

London Calling was a great track. They also did a good cover of I fought the law. Capital Radio, Was another one.

London Calling, I Fought the Law, Bankrobber, all bangers.
🎵My Daddy was a bankrobber but he never hurt nobody, he just loved to live that way and he loved to steal your money 🎵

One of the popular phrases when this was released was Let’s blow this popsicle stand, a euphemism for let’s get out of here.

I've always thought of this as a toxic relationship where if you go you may kick off but if you stay then its the same toxic cycle

Lost in the Supermarket is one of my Clash favorites!

Rock The Casbah a Clash classic!  It originally was about the a band member's girlfriend.l and somewhat sexual. However the song was very, very popular in the 80s.

To see The Clash in all their Clash-glory, really you should check out their song "Tommy Gun".
