Heretic House

Let's be honest, most Warhammer 40k Basing videos SUCK, and this one will too, but at least we're going to get weird for the plastic circles that are an afterthought when it comes to painting a full Warhammer 40k army

No nature walks, no hundreds of dollars on little fake plants, just unique NEVER SEEN BEFORE takes on what we can do to get away from the usual boring Warhammer basing techniques

An army with the carpet bases… all the bases connect as one big carpet city

The biggest push that I got to go into the depths of free hand is. "Just do it, be prepared to start over"

I love the painting side quests they are refreshingly different from all the other hobby stuff I come across

Protip - model train ballast is exactly the same as the hobby-branded coarse basing sand like used in the first windowed base (or OG 2e/3e goblin green marine bases), except you get twice as much for half the cost.
Many hobby brands take regular items and repurpose them.

Man, this has quickly become one of my favorite channels. It's all stuff I can reasonably do without dedicating my life and 4 years tuition at an art school to the hobby, and it all has such depth and versatility. I have a bunch of 2x2 stretched canvases and and thinking about making it the base for one of my boyz to jump out of, thanks for the inspiration!

Honestly, for the last one, you can just use cardboard, like from your cereal packet, and keep the shiny part outside. I did it and it's working amazingly (for industial bases with plates of metal) and also, for shattering ones. All my demons have shattered bases (I'm collectining a bit everything, including Chaos demons), as it symbolizes the fact that reality has cracked down, and the cracks are painted in a strange way, to mimick the Warp (it's very small, so I don't need to be amazing, just putting weird colors is enough)

I didn't know the orange and blue brown technique. Thank you for explaining it.

Hi, quick tip about drilling holes with a step drill, grab a cheap hunk of sacrificial wood. Like a hunk of 2"x4" or literally whatever flat-ish wood you find in a scrap pile and as long as it's larger than the hole you are trying to drill, it will perfectly support the piece you are trying to drill.

I am very much looking forward to another video with a mix of different basing efforts.

@4:02 "We don't need a smooth top" yer dad says hi

@doppelhelixes 7 days ago

the shatered ground base needs a dragonball yamcha pose lying defeated on the ground! But it needs to be the exact meme pose!

maybe place a gretchen or squig above it to make it confirming with the rules...
