Something else to consider while you look at the test results.

The price per volume (listed here as pence per ml) of each paint, based on their RRP. Here's the list in ascending order:

15p per ml: TTCombat
16p per ml: AK
17p per ml: Vallejo
20p per ml: Warcolours
20p per ml: Ionic
33p per ml: TonePro (based on the reported RRP of £4 per pot)

If nothing else this video reinforces that two thin coats will nearly always get you a decent result. It's the tried and true for a reason!

Thanks, giving us the chance to decide for ourselves was a really good idea! I'm reluctantly impressed by Tone Pro, but it's clear the stuff isn't magic. Shame you weren't able to compare against Army Painter Fanatic - I'd be very interested to see that too!

I feel like Tone Pro is going to fit nicely into a space where it makes beginners feel better at painting than they actually are. Which for Warhammer is a pretty obvious direction. GW seems to be doing everything it can to get beginners off the ground faster, push-fit models, pre-painted terrain and now paints that let you make mistakes and not regret it as much if you go on too thick. Advanced painters will be able to utilise any paint range to good effect Tone Pro included.

The best review of Tone Pro. Thank you so much. Funny this, I bought the entire set of TTCombat Oranges about a year ago, nice to see one in a showdown.
