Remember watching this series as a 10 year old. So good to see the channel 9 coverage as i only saw it on the ABC as they still had the tv rights to test cricket in regional areas

Great players, all.

If Reid had played as many tests as Warney, you would be looking at a seamer with 610 wickets to his name; simply astonishing fact.

The MCG in the process of the Great Southern Stand redevelopment

Wayne Larkins was some player on his day, really was.

Bit of a forgotten series this one as you don’t really hear much about it in regards to ashes history.

Nice to see England bat a full day there

One year later by that time the Aussies had a lot of new players.  Mark Waugh, Justin Langer, Damien Martyn, Shane Warne to name a few.

Thank you....class!

Thank-you!

Devon Malcolm & Chris Lewis is from Carribean & years later Chris Jordan play for England .

Good top order, shame about the three number 11's.

David Gower's last ever tour. His test career was ended way too early.

Allan border remarked at the end of the series that there were times England could have won or would have been a much closer contest. They just fell apart in a few key seasons such as this test when Bruce Reid went through them like a dose of salts.

Lovely. Thanks for posting. Do you have the rest of the series highlights by any chance please ?

that running by Larkin and Smith. Terrible. England had talented players but were so unprofessional. Things like catching, fielding and running between wickets was well below first class level.
