great video, react to some other ones if you want, my first video might add some context to everything going on with bethesda

Todd Howard promised 16x the detail and he delivered ..... 14x the layers of management.

29:07 one of the rare instances where cancer is used correctly as a metaphor.

I love when flats gets into these tips a topics. Learning the lore of game makers from the game player

I finished high school and obtained a PhD in only 14 years, and I'm still waiting

the real question is how Todd "it just works!" Howard has been left in charge for SO long. Long enough for all these problems to occure.

I don't even know if it counts as them not doing their jobs. It's become weirdly normal for companies to take 6-7 years per game, and they always seem to only work on one at a time outside of minor pre-production.

But thats kinda why i still respect obsidian, and haven't fully written them off.
None of their games have been awful. Not great either mind you. But actually managing to start and finish multiple projects that run well, are mechanically sound and have a reasonable budget in the current era is sadly commendable. Even if they are all described as just okay.

Hopefully they find their groove in the writing department again, because that's
al that is standing between them and good games. It really feels like they gave up on writing after deadfire failed for unrelated reasons.

He also made another vid titled Bethesda Thinks they're Rockstar. It's pretty good.

Side note Pillars of eternity are great fantasy for games, first one can be rough getting into but fun.

Of course I'll rewatch the Drawn Out video because my GOAT flats is watching it, more please!

As someone who has lots of hours in f76, I agree it could be doing way better.
Though, I wouldn't be surprised if its making bank from fallout 1st compared to how few people actively play it.

Bethesda has such an overwhelmingly gargantuan captive audience, but they refuse to do a goddamn thing.

All they had to do was have a fallout 3/fnv remake drop as season 2 of the show came out and had a new elder scrolls trailer at the Xbox showcase

5:37 Trust but verify. If you have anyone working under you, BOTH of these need to happen. Otherwise, you're just in charge.

21:34 We got GTA 6 before ES6

5:46 hands off all the time and hands on all the time produce the same results. You need a healthy mix of hands off and on, and it varies from team to team.

4:32 -7:34 Just Asha Sharma being Domina.

Gears of War E-day is bringing back horde mode but this time its open world with world bosses and you can upgrade your weapons to actually do different things (You can make the Gnasher Full Auto with a Bayonet at the end. Gnasher was already good they just made it possibly the most broken weapon since the Hammer of Dawn.

ive been waiting soooooo loooooong :eyes-purple-crying: i rember when i played skyrim when i was 12 12 i m 26 :face-pink-tears::face-pink-tears::face-pink-tears:

There was also a memo from sharma where she basically told the executives that they were losing 64 cents on every dollar made.
This course correction was long overdue.
