WAIT FOR US is an emotional sci-fi short animation set on Mars.

After a mysterious lifeform forces the human research crew to evacuate, two androids are left behind inside an abandoned Mars base. One is a female research-assistant android. The other is a child companion android, originally created to ease the loneliness of long-term space missions.

As the base falls under attack, the two are driven outside into an environment their bio-synthetic systems cannot survive without life-support protection. When only one functional helmet remains, the female android makes a choice that goes beyond logic and self-preservation.

Through protecting the child, she begins to understand something she was never programmed to feel: the human heart.

A quiet story about sacrifice, artificial life, maternal love, and a promise that may not have been forgotten.

(WAIT FOR US)는 화성을 배경으로 한 감성 SF 단편 애니메이션입니다.

정체불명의 생명체의 공격으로 인간 연구진이 긴급 철수한 뒤, 화성기지에는 두 안드로이드만 남겨집니다. 하나는 인간 연구를 보조하던 여성형 안드로이드이고, 다른 하나는 장기간 우주 임무에서 인간의 외로움을 덜어주기 위해 제작된 반려자녀형 꼬마 안드로이드입니다.

괴물의 공격으로 기지가 붕괴되면서 두 존재는 결국 기지 밖으로 내몰립니다. 생체합성 시스템을 지닌 이들에게 화성 외부 환경은 치명적이며, 살아남기 위해서는 생명유지 헬멧이 반드시 필요합니다.

그러나 마지막에 사용할 수 있는 헬멧은 단 하나.

여성형 안드로이드는 자신의 생존이 아닌 꼬마를 선택합니다.

그 희생의 순간, 그녀는 자신이 이해하지 못했던 감정에 도달합니다.

인간의 마음.

이 작품은 인공생명, 희생, 모성애, 기다림, 그리고 끝내 돌아오는 약속에 대한 이야기입니다.
