This is actually a powerful story and very telling considering the advances and worries about AI. In a similar vein to the Stephen Speilberg movie AI the child seems to really have feeling for his "mother". The ads the child receives and relays to his mother are not unlike a google search which results in a barrage of unwanted ads coming in!

Given that this is an AI film, the human mother in this story is just as artificial as the AI characters as well, which makes watching this feel a little strange.

No robot could replace my child. EVER.

At least this AI replacement child appears to be able to eat unlike one in a well known movie. However, its not a good idea to let any child direct your credit spending - they are expensive enough anyway.

I feel like the story is similar to the movie Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die

She could have given him a different name, instead of remaining angry that it wasn't still him.. same as birthing a new and different child.

Didn't take much to convince Mom to bring a robot into her life. . .❤

Great work, It was really pretty moving when the mother leaves the android version of her son behind. Was feeling sorry for him until the creepy store attendant offered her the boat. Brilliant and thought provoking. Excellent work.

The question is, where are the memories coming from?  If this child is dead, they can’t get them from him anymore. Or is this a society where humans can download memories on a regular basis?  Or do they take it from videos and other media?  But otherwise pretty similar to today when LLM’s grab everything and mark it to us nonstop.  Very unique perspective. And it could be a war warning.
