the fact that the dad is typically late means that he had even LESS of a reason to leave their child alone for work

“You’re not getting a cent of inheritance!” and then expecting to live in your child’s home for a month is crazy work.

The kid saying "dad just left me" is HEARTBREAKING. I've literally had that happen to me before, I was stuck for hours waiting for my dad to pick me up. Like Brooke said, that's literally just neglect omg.

To add to this. Hypothetically if op was out to get coffee, why would you also leave the house and leaving the kid home alone. Could’ve waited till they got back so someone is supervising the child

smokey bear.. if you can hear me please save us.. smokey bear please save us

13:20 plot twist: she was, in-fact, the last adult to leave the house. because she was *the only* adult in the house

18:15 most of it is still snow and north pole imagery. But you get the occasional Santa on a beach with a sand snowman lol, I’ve always wanted to experience holiday season in winter tbh

12:48 as someone who works 6am-6pm, if my spouse did this id have a mental breakdown lowkey, like id really consider separation cause thats so inconsiderate

That is so terrifying. That 7 yr old could have ran out of the house in a panic looking for his parents and gotten hurt or kidnapped. If the police had been called they would have been charged with neglect and abandonment. That is such a huge mess up. Doesn't even count as a mistake since he just straight up left the kid alone. I don't believe that he thought his wife was gonna come back. I think he seriously didn't care how he son would feel. Thank God she can use this situation to hold against him in family court.

11:00 The thing with this is, even if the Mom had just gone out to get coffee, the Dad should not have left home until the mom got back, no seven-year-old should be home alone for any length of time

As an Australian, it is still very north pole christmas when it comes to advertisements etc, we also have beach santa as well so its a mix of both. Weird Ik.

9:21 this is absolutely wild…especially because it seems like all of this was just their regular routine! Like what was the dad even doing ASKING about her going out for coffee?? What do you mean, she’s at work, she left at 6, just like every other Friday 😭 assuming all of this is accurate his behavior makes ZERO sense — def the asshole! (and probably a horrible father in numerous other ways)

I feel like anyone who asks if they are in the wrong on Reddit has already made up their mind on whether or not they are. But then there are also the instances where people legitimately need someone to kindly yell at them that they are being mistreated.

EXCITED FOR THIS ONE!!!

I cat sit and have had people’s parents and in laws drop in and stay at their place all the time with no warning, thus scaring the shit out of me when I go to feed the cats. They’re not there for the pets as I’ve seen them fully ignore them while filling the sink with dirty dishes and overloading the trash cans. I find it super weird.

Hearing that the kid was crying about being left and that they KNOW the OP works that day, I cant help but feel like the kid did NOT say they went to get coffee

Absolutely godly YouTube refresh pull

What's beyond me is that even if the wife did go out to get coffee the husband still left the 7 year old home alone like I'm I unreasonable for thinking that's weird who leaves a 7 year old alone even if you know your spouse is coming back because the kid is still home alone and you don't know when she'll be back

When I was under 10, I woke up to the house being empty and started freaking out, I called my neighbor/my mom’s best friend sobbing and saying no one was here. She ran to get me bc she knew I was so upset. Only for her to see my mom at the bus stop w my older siblings bc it was raining lmao. They were in middle/high school so their school started later, my mom thought I wouldn’t wake up bc I was a heavy sleeper. I can’t imagine that poor baby being so scared. :(((
