This week, someone tries to point the dirty end of the stick at us “again”, the container conversion projects keep on giving as we lay it on thick deciding to build a new video editor suite, we take it from “The Window to walls”, close one door for another to open, and work out whether to make the 10 Commandments from wood, stone or paper.

Then, the snippers dream aka ‪@DanielAshvilleOfficial‬ clearly has a lot on his mind and stops keeping his thoughts to himself as he asks someone NOT to respect his boundaries, reviews new government property rental policies, gives us his take on risk, tells us we are all “In Big Trouble” and that he’s not a chemistry teacher “iiiiidiotttt”!

hard copy menu all day long

If I go into a restaurant with my family and it's barcode only I leave, I don't want phones out while we are dining.

Welcome to container weekly where we have been working on containers for over 1 month.

@danielwillow1979 5 days ago

Depending on how you want your restaurant to feel. Cheap Nando’s use a barcode, give more of a premium feel use menu board

Paper menus would be good
As what happens if the wifi goes down and no web can be accessed (data charges be through the roof)

Give both options for folk to scan or have a hard copy. You could possibly source a local artisan to create the menu (down to the paper, which could be biodegradable). Just a thought. Not everyone wants to handle thier phone so much on holiday. I look forward to visiting when you open.

Hard copy of the menu… if you go on holiday and then open up your phone to view a menu. You’re going to be tempted to read your work emails or messages and that would upset your holiday and plus some people go away on holiday to relax and spend time with you’re partners etc

Menus depends on type of restaurant, a smaller restaurant with an exclusive feel for me should be printed and not laminated.
A bar/QR code belong in a high street chain type establishment

You spoke about tube light, that old school stuff. You can get low profile led water proof style too.

What if you have someone on holiday that wants to be away from phones and just wants a RELAXING Holiday? so a hard copy menu is good for me personally, as I prefer a personal one to one when ordering!

With the menu, have custom wooden clipboards you can just print a nice sheet out and it goes straight into the clipboard.

You can have a barcoded web version that prints exactly as you want it.

One menu, that works in both worlds.

Love the wooden board idea starting to hate these QR things bring old school back 😅

21:09 the more important question - what will the server say? How will they greet the customer? How do you want the customer to feel? - Nobody remembers the menu, they remember how they felt and how they were treated.

Great service + bad menu = good experience
Great menu + bad service = bad experience

Nail the service + experience and everything else is secondary.

For me personally, hard copy menus are the only option if the restaurant wants to project a premium image.

BUT

I also like having a QR code on the menu somewhere which can contain detailed information on allergens and nutrition.
I have family members with various dietary requirements, and we will always prefer places who have lots of detail of what the specific allergens and ingredients are in each dish.

Your journey in life is making you a stronger person Daniel. Great video again.

For the restaurant have both available, QR and menu. Within the QR sticker or plate, have an NFC tag in built. QR codes system can be hosted etc by yourself
