If I told you that you can make a beautiful looking website in less time than it takes me to broach a keyway, you'd have thought I was pulleying your leg! Head to https://squarespace.syuh.net/alecsteele to save 10% off your first purchase of a website or domain using code FORGE.

Petition for an entire video of Jamie's voiceover and sound effect for everything in the video

The editing and shenanigans in this video were top notch!

I appreciate Mrs. Steele asking the questions the rest of us non-blacksmiths are asking anyway.

Jamie's sound effects and commentary absolutely make this the best video of all time that Alec has EVER put out on his channel

Paul was the unsung hero of the restoration. Everything Alec does will be hidden inside the hammer, but Paul's work will be visible for years.

Do note that you don't actually need to use as many belts as there are grooves in the pulley. Material science has advanced since that power hammer was made. Modern belts are way stronger and grippier than they were back then. When I restored my 1965 turret lathe, I did the math for how many belts I need, and it turned out that only one belt would have been enough. I added two, which was quite overkill. The lathe originally had 4.
