This guy is really the worst! In addition to the crime, he shamelessly made a fool of Ashley's mom by allowing her to comfort him, how he repays her family for letting him work in their family business by taking away the most precious thing in their lives AND to top it all, he isn't going to spare his children from testifying - making them relive the trauma of the loss of their moms. He's so self-absorbed it extends even to the way he presents himself in court.

This cowardly man threw away a life given him on a silver platter. He threw away a wonderful family, father and mother-in-law, and blessed life filled with many opportunities. He destroyed the future life for his children with their beloved mom, affecting their mental and emotional life forever in relation to himself, thier mom, and all over lust, greed and selfless absorption.

He doesn't deserve any sympathy for his calculative, callous and heartless actions after his father-in-law had given the generous gift to this ungrateful son-in-law and his beloved daughter.
The woman ib whom he was in affair with is also a despicable woman who herself, was acquainted with this generous family.
