This track is 34 years old...... Prodigy never sound tired. They're probably the greatest dance act of all time

I like that new people are discovering The Prodigy but what's kind of sad is, they can never know what they meant at the time without having lived through it. It was something special that can't be described.

The vocal sample is Max Romeo - I chase the devil

The whole of The Prodigy Experience is full of bangers. Your going to love the album, it's a total joy. Hyperspeed is my favourite track .

You can see they're friends, brothers. Throughout their career had been and that's what's all about. Enjoying with your friends have fun, everything else is a bonus

the UK has a profound and historic roots reggae connection, acting for reggae’s global popularity outside Jamaica. Through the Windrush generation in the 1950s/60s

both america and jamaica /west indies was a british colony .. lots of jamaicans come over to britain after world war two because we had a shortage of man power.. the first ship that brought them over was called windrush., hence they are known as the windrush generation.. since then we have a heavily jamaican influence as well as blues

Reggae was a huge influence to music in the uk, it was the reason for Jungle, and I am very thankful for that.

Watching people trying to dance like Leeroy in raves was something else, having gone to some of the biggest raves back in the day it was like being in the twilight zone

@jaymoon1714 7 months ago

back in the day when the prodigy were just another rave group. i loved this era but there were some other groups who were at their level: SL2, krome and time , acen, N-Joi, Liquid,The House Crew , to name a few but if you like this style of music check these out . obviously the prodigy went on and changed to become something else entirely without losing their rave roots. love em

The reason we danced like that to rave music back in the 90's was because we were all off our heads on Ecstasy lol

Growing up in the 90s I was listening to grunge and metal, this song was my gateway drug into a completely different group of electronic genres that became huge in the UK around the same time

Keep them coming lads! 'No Good' is the next ravey anthem that you want 🙂

'Voodoo People' video is also fire.

The reggae soundsystem had a big influence on the hardcore (rave) scene in the UK, around 1992 hardcore (which is what out of space is) fused with reggae/dub and gave birth to jungle and drum and bass. The prodigy left the hardcore scene around 94 and went off on their own direction.

You’ve discovered the early Prodigy , when they were essentially a Rave PA , Liam sampled Max Romeo and the Upsetters track “Chase the Devil” . So this is pre Maxim and Keith providing any lyrics. The Ostrich references in the video are because when Liam was on the way back from a rave one night an escaped Ostrich from a local zoo was running between cars down the motorway.
