This series is much appriciated. That marlinspike-to-bowline transformation was an absolute magic trick to me ;-)

Knowing knots can be a game changer. I've always had trouble remembering them. I just need to keep practicing. It's hard to work on knot tying as my husband has been critically ill for 9 years and I stay in the bedroom with him quietly attending his needs and wants. I tie off to my headboard and tye handle of my night stand to practice. It's not easy but I am trying to learn. I know these skills will help my family one day.Thank you so much for teaching me.

In the German firefighters we actually use that timber hitch and half hitches in combination to secure a vacuum hose when sourcing from natural bodies of water, to be able to pull it back up again when we are done.

So well done! Thank you for doing BOTH the standard and POV rope helpers. It DOES make quite a difference for even right-handed users. LOL

This is why I teach people new to rope, uninterested in knots, or young people the Marline spike hitch first, they almost always know how to tie what most people refer to as a 'slip knot' already, and it gives them the ability to create anything from a midline loop, end rope loop, rope to rope, or rope to object connection by only knowing a single base knot. Very good explanation, David. Great video.

Loving this series David. I learned so much useful information in just 5 minutes. Really like your style of explaining these.

Well done Dave, I am really enjoying the Rope Clinic series. A good refresher for all of us who should know this stuff but never use it. Hopefully you can extend this into a tarp pitch video series and the other basics.
