It seems like a small thing but,  I love when my neighbors on surrounding ranches come to me because they have a tree they need dropped but they don't feel safe doing it.  I also love when they have a saw that isn't running or isn't running well and they ask if I can take a look.  Having those skills to help and being the guy they turn to is a rewarding feeling.  Skills help you,  help others. 👍

My joy is farming on a small produce farm. I quit booze 3 years ago. It's remarkable how much has changed since. I used to spend so many nights clinging to the smallest sliver of hope that maybe one day life will get better. I truly feel like I found that place finally. A decade ++ of spinning my wheels. Married to the love of my life that stuck with me through some truly ugly times and now I am out of my own way enough to enjoy life. I love working on a farm. I love how connected to my community it makes me feel. I love going to work and not dreading every minute. I am truly blessed.

the joy of living the simple honest life, be honest, be kind and love the life you have to live, and those who are a part of it!

My wife was sitting with me while i watched this video, and she usually ribs me because i do tree work all day and then come home and watch tree work videos when i get a minute, but when Wendy brought you a coffee and you took a moment to talk about how it's a privilege to be a man looking after a woman and a family i could tell she saw it was deeper than watching a man cut down trees like i do all day.

Been watching for quite a while now, but just subscribed.......living in upstate NY (midway between Albany and Saratoga),   I've had an outdoor wood burning boiler for about 30-yrs now, which burns about 10 - 12 cords of wood a year.  Still cutting and splitting the wood I need myself, and at 76, I'm still learning.  Many thanks for the entertaining, educational, and inspiring videos.  Peace.  Joe D.

My dad was a climber in the 1960’s and 1970’s. He taught me that Dutchman rope trick ,and how to climb. God bless you Dad. Another great video Billy.
Thank you. Tree men are a special breed.

I use that “poor man’s comealong” so much as a commercial fisherman. I use a truckers hitch instead of a bowline and I tie it off different so it’s faster to untie but it’s the same trick. Works great for tying things down in the bed of your truck if you’re short on straps. If your curious Buckin, or anyone else I could maybe figure out how to send a video of how I make it more quick release.

Your positivity is so infectious mate. Appreciate it all.

Billy I'm living vicariously through you. As soon as you said you were putting a row in it I knew you were going for the poor man's jack!

I could listen to you talk about compression, tension, and the physics and geometry of felling a tree.

Fibre, tag line, tension and compression!!That was RAD! needed this video to progress, THANK YOU, BUCKIN'!!!!

Find your happy place in the grind. Finally figuring that out at 46. It's not about money! Like Brooks and Dunn sang "I'm gettin pretty good at barely gettin by" 😄

Thanks for this video. I just used this type of line when cutting down a tree that would have fallen on my house. I tagged it off so that it could only go away from the house, not onto it. It worked like a charm. Keep those videos rolling.

take this as a compliment please you are the Bob Ross of chainsaws I sit and watch your videos and just get in a Zen like state brother , and your ability to use common sense and a little bit of physics is amazing

The way Luke said "Oh", made me laugh out loud.  4:15

Work hard, be honest, and be kind ❤

This great country needs a lot more people out in front like Billy and Luke showing the peace and value of honest hard work, taking pride in doing things the right way and treating our fellow neighbors with love.  Too much hate and selfishness taking center stage right now. 👍🙏

Love the Bowline. Use it often.

While I continue to learn a tremendous amount from Buckin’ Billy Ray...  This channel has always been about: much more than cutting trees!—his enthusiasm is unmistakably sincere, and so are the lessons in experience, character, hard work, and kindness. /Thank you for sharing so much with us! 🌲👍

"seek your joy" Great advice, needed to hear this!

You dont ever "flap" thank you for what you do man
