When he says about the old photo with absolutely loads of people looking like it could be Disney Land. Made me think i really wouldn't be surprised that In the PB heyday if it was probably more famous /  popular than DL

We like to put down Blackpool but it's actually lots of fun. We used to go every year for the illuminations, I was a teenager before I saw it without rain and wind.

The big one set all kinds of records when it was built in 94 highest in the world, steepest drop in the world, fastest in Europe. Apparently some guy also lived on it and rode it continuously for 112 days to set a record. Part 2 plz.

Everybody slags of blackpool, but everybody who goes there always enjoys themselves!

Despite what people say, Blackpool, Lancashire will always be the best place to go for a fun weekend...
And this is coming from a Yorkshireman.
As a kid Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire was better, but that's because I would spend most of the day in the Indiana Jones Funhouse aka Aztec Adventure which is now known as MontyZoomers, while my parents strolled around the shops.
To get the best out of Blackpool, you need to buy tickets and wristbands for B&Bs, Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Pleasure Beach etc months in advance online, as they'll be much much cheaper, and will be even more cheap if they're bought for a group of people and as a group themselves as in a ticket for multiple attractions.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is also the best theme park in the UK by a mile imo, with Drayton Manor coming second, and Flamingo Land coming third.

Blackpool ranks as one of the poorest and deprived areas in Britain.  Bearing this in mind it can be a great day or weekend away.

Loved watching this!!! Brought back some nostalgic feelings. I live in Wales so didnt go often but I loved it and the illuminations. Even though Blackpool isn't as popular as it used to be and is a bit rough from what ive heard this makes me  think i need to make a trip my self ❤

The Grand National is an absolutely epic wooden mobius coaster, one of only two in the world. The Wild Mouse was terrific and terrifying. Hiram Maxim, who designed the Flying Machine was an American who also invented the machine gun. Thing about Blackpool as a resort is that before cheap air travel, families went there for a week or two for their summer holidays. Nowadays it is largely (although not exclusively) day trippers and stag/hen parties. The character of the visitors has changed the character of the town.

The Wild Mouse left you bruised but was was worth it.

well done , also i cant believe the video creator didn't show a single picture or clip of the "big one"  , crazy... it was the highest in the world for some time. shocking that he left that out of this video! make sure to go on it!

Morning visit up Blackpool tower, a pop along the pier, a paddle in the sea, Get an old style tram to the pleasure beach, spend half a day there, including going on the Big One, Avalanche, Revolution, The Big Dipper, Steeplechase (hold tight or die), fish and chips (don't let the seagulls see it, they are the size of pterodactyls and will carry you off in their attempt to steal it from you unless Mark protects you all), walk along the prom, then tram along the strip to see the illuminations. A few sticks of rock, including aniseed, humbug and fruit rainbow, for the family back home. A tidy day's work.

Go and have a look round Blackpool Tower and the massive ballroom in there.

It's not that bad, it was better in the 1970's & 1980's.  The illuminations are a must see, and the Tower.  You should try Blackpool rock.

Blackpool is my hometown and I love it dearly. Much of the town is sadly very run down due to underinvestment in the town (and the north in general - hopefully that's about to change). It's not difficult to have a great time there though. Bring your big coats 😂

The Pleasure Beach is undeniable. It's not Disney World, it's not even Alton Towers, but it's a genuinely great day out. ICON and the Big One are great rides.

The Pleasure Beach doesn't have a casino but the Grosvenor Casino is a short walk away. I won £20 on roulette and that was the end of my gambling career!

To answer the casino question, there isn't a casino at pleasure beach any more, however there is one across the road next to the sandcastle water park.
We in Britain take a lot of what we've got for granted and knock things that don't live upto our memories (obviously things deteriorate over time) as someone coming in with fresh eyes you will have some of that romanticism and enjoyment that we all had when we visited Blackpool and the pleasure beach as kids. For example Grand National is often knocked by British youtubers as a very rough unpleasant rollercoaster (it's over 90 years old) & not as smooth as it used to be. Whereas American youtubers rave about how unique and special the ride is.
2 rides you have to check out are Big One, which when it was built was the tallest rollercoaster in the world & Valhalla which I gave you that challenge for, which has won awards as the best dark ride in the world multiple years in a row including when it was closed for refurbishmen.
One tip I will give you, when on the coasters try not to sit on a seat over any of the wheels that way you'll have a smoother ride.
2 historic rides Big Dipper and River Caves both over 100 years old are currently closed. Big Dipper unfortunately derailed earlier this year (noone was hurt but the ride was badly damaged) & River Caves I'd being refurbished after it developed a huge water leak into the sand below the ride.

The candy stores facing the beach sell air rifles, crossbows, knuckle dusters and nunchucks, plus cotton candy, buckets and spades, and sugar d1ldos.  There’s something for everyone in Blackpool.
