Alien Weaponry is really cool. A lot of their songs are focused on Maori traditions or environmental issues. Some of their songs are in English too. Not sure if you saw it in the wiki page, but the guitarist and drummer are brothers. The bassist has been replaced since this song, but the current bassist was also one of the warriors in this video.

I remember the first time I heard this, and I was blown away by the talent of these young teenagers! I actually bought their debut album on the strength of this song alone and found it wasn't even the best track on the album! Great reaction. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

one of my fav cinematic music videos ! it s great at telling the story w/out really knowing the context
and it s actually not bad historically either

Alien Weaponry is great! They help share the Maori tradition, folklore, and philosophy of their people. In addition they're great musicians they really deserve far more attention!

These guys only had 14 both guitarist, bassist and The drummer 16 when this song came out!

First saw Alien Weaponry at the 1st (And Last) Epicenter festival (Took the place of Carolina Rebellion). Then they popped up again when I was listening to Sepultura. They are awesome and the Maori people that they represent are super awesome! This lead to my discovery and journey with the HU.

YAASSSS!!! Haven´t even seen your video yet but here´s some follow ups:
Rhu ana whenua, raupatu, hatupatu!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘😈😈😈😈🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Post watch edit: Yes you should try n find early live videos cause seeing that young kids slay it live is really inspirational!
There are also documentaries about how they display Maori culture through their music.
P.S Do you know about the Haka? Doesn´t have anything to do with the music business but is still an interesting thing connected to the context here. ❤❤❤

i love how unique they are in their style and the videos they do aswell
i wish it would be easier finding these smaller non eu/us bands so im always happy to see someone to react to them
the only thing i dont like in this song is how repetitve the verse feels. when relistening to this song it always feels like it drags a bit but the chorus always slaps
two other great songs of them are Hatupatu and Tangaroa if anyone wants more

It’s one of those bands I’ve been meaning to dive deeper into for a long time, but haven’t. I’ve seen another of their videos, something about trying to reclaim the head of one of their ancestors. They play hard.

You don't have to understand the language to understand this song. You fucked around, now you about to find out.

Loved it. I also am fascinated by other cultures especially the indigenous peoples. The Maori like our Native American Indian`s were subjugated by Europeans and still to this day treated badly.
