This lady is just a ray of light

I still consider this to be one of their very best tracks. \m/

Ma'am its 7:54 am here on a refresh pull and my house is not ready for me to karaoke "ArE yOu ReAdY?" 5 times right now ... This was KoRns first track on their first album 32 years ago and became an anthem for my childhood.

The key thing to remember about Blind is that this song came out when Nirvana was at the height of their fame.  This song was like nothing that had ever been made before.

When they did the Woodstock 99 performance of this the crowd looked like ocean waves of flesh.

Korn live in the 90s was a show to behold. They were unstoppable.

This song was the most impressive introductory song I have ever heard from a band. Korn was making an entirely different sound than anything we had at the time, and it was exactly what we didn't know we wanted and needed. When Jonathan asked "Are you ready?" the answer was both "no" and a resounding "YES!" at the same time. And don't get me wrong, other bands had great first songs in the same era (Shine by Collective Soul, Shelf in the Room by Days of the New), no other band demanded your attention the way Korn did from the first tap on the ride. The sound was so unique that they had to create a new subgenre of metal (nu metal) to describe it, and retroactively added bands like White Zombie and Pantera (who were already established by then) to the subgenre.

I wasn't sure at first what to recommend for your next Korn listen. "Ball Tongue" continued blowing minds with what this new music was going to be. "Daddy" was the most emotionally wrecking song I have ever heard, and it being the last song on their debut album amplified that fact - but it's not appropriate for most audiences due to its subject matter. But what you need is bagpipes: "Shoots and Ladders" should be the next song on your Korn playlist.

Best show opener ever.

When I first heard Korn back in 1996 I thought - are these guys from this planet? Their music felt very different from everything I had heard before.

I used to play this song as the first song of my warm up every night. Bass and vocals. Really used to get me ready.

Years and years later, and THIS song is still my favorite song ever ! 🤘🔥🤘

That intro was the start-up sound for my PC for over a decade.  Easily one of my favorite Korn songs and it's especially good live.

You're right, there is alot to take in (love) about Korn. I love their entire catalog and I don't think you can go wrong, but "Got the life" is another fun one. Have a great week!

My favorite band in the world by far right here.

I would listen to this album on my headphones in art class and my friends would ask, “why are you breathing so hard?” 😂

I was 23 years old when this album dropped. I was primarily listening to hip hop at the time but when I saw this video on mtv it completely changed everything  for me.

13:30 great analysis and perspective. Would be nice to hear more Korn reactions

You are a gem for pushing yourself to dig into this stuff. Been watching many of your vids and want to offer you kudos accordingly :)

Young lady, you must be reading the comments since you’ve chosen to react to these vocals. Also speaks to the large demographic that appreciates your videos.

Whole album is a masterpiece. Especially Daddy.
