The Dinner Plan is releasing TODAY! https://go.nebula.tv/dinnerplan?ref=cinemawins

Fun Fact you've probably heard by now: The man who chants "SUPERMAN" with the kids in the war scene apparently cried when he got the role as he's almost always been cast as a terrorist/evil foreign invader in every other movie he's been in and he was delighted to be on the other side for once.

The one line that got me hooked on this Superman was: "People were going to die!!" That alone sold me on David being Superman

the last scene where pa kent plays "superman" with baby clark literally broke me

I love the bit where Superman throws Luthor's desk around and Luthor doesn't react. If Luthor believed even a little bit what he said about Superman he would have feared for his life. But he knows Superman is a good person who tries to do good things. Really highlights how selfish Luthor's motivations are, he doesn't care at all about others, he doesn't act out of a misguided fear of superman and a desire to protect humanity for him. He just hates that everyone like superman more than they like him

Fun Fact: The early scene of Clark Kent walking into work and being like a foot taller than everyone was shot with a bunch of shorter extras. David Corenswet is 6'4" but they specifically made sure all the extras were below ~5'8" to make sure he towered over them all.

I know this is a condensed video covering an entire film, but one of my favorite moments is when Metamorpho breaks down crying, "He just killed that poor guy, and I didn't do anything..." Changes the perception of him from being cold and stoic to being very sensitive and compassionate

This was the first time that I noticed that when Clark and John are outside having their talk (20:04) that Clark is barefoot.  Then I realized that his shirt and pants are a little too short on him.  I love how this adds the detail that Clark hasn't been home in a hot minute because he's either wearing some of John's clothes or some of his older ones that he outgrew.  And yet Ma and Pa Kent instantly welcomed Lois, worried over their boy, and were there for him as he was dealing with one of his lowest moments.  They'll always be there for their son no matter how long he's gone, and that's just so heartwarming. ;_;

Fun fact: the tearful older Jarhanpurian man who starts chanting 'Superman!' after the kids is an actor who got typecast in so many roles as a generic evil terrorist that he was grateful for Gunn to be given a role as that one. Hell, I imagine that gratitude slipped into the role and that's why he looks so emotional.

Edit: his name is Fahim Fazli

I'm surprised you didn't give a win to the follow up to "yeah, and not even a very good one."

"But he's alone and probably scared."

It's yet another line that sums up Superman's ethos. His empathy isn't transactional. It overflows for everyone, even the dog that regularly wrecks his house and hurts him.

This movie is so chock full of deceptively simple lines that do an amazing job of building Superman's character.

25:40  I like that “1A” implies that this move, where he has Superman pinned down, at his mercy, and brutally pummeling his face into the ground, is the first thing that came to Lex’s mind when coming up with a plan to beat him. Perfectly shows Lex’s petty superiority complex over Superman.

Creating unstable wormholes in order to sneak around has the same energy as wearing kryptonite ring that could very easily give you cancer. So character continuity from Lex.

“WHERE’S THE DOG?” Clark’s anger here is SO much better when you learn that Krypto is Kara’s dog. She would’ve absolutely raised hell if she found out that dog had gotten hurt.

Fun fact, the squirrel scene was almost cut. It's great that Gunn advocated for it given how it shows Clark's empathy for others.

The saddest part about Mali’s entire story for me is that Clark’s article on him reads that he DID have a family, he just lied to comfort Superman since he knew he was done for. That’s genuinely one of the most selfless actions I’ve ever seen from a character in a film, superhero or not.

15:05 I want to point out, Mali has a family, he was lying to make sure Superman said nothing, it’s so heartbreaking to hear him, knowing he’s going to die and deciding that it was worth more than whatever lex wanted to hear

Also I love that Mr Terrific doesn’t hold back against the science nerds because they’re just as culpable for the travesty going on here.

The fact that so many people criticized this movie because Superman was ‘too nice’ really does just cement how much we needed this movie.

I love the fact that during Superman's speech about his humanity being his greatest strength at the end, he tells Lex that he hopes for humanity's sake that he realizes the same is true for him. he genuinely, sincerely believes that Lex has the capacity to not just be a good person but to be a hero. Superman as a guy who sincerely believes that every single person in the world has the capacity to do good is inspiring.

12:55 the monkey ragebaiters gag is my favorite in the film because Lex DEFINITELY has the knowledge and resources to make a massive bot farm to farm outrage over Superman, but he CHOOSES to enslave intelligent monkeys instead. Lex is so extra I hate him but I love it.
