Bob at the end with "I did the dishes though." is a win for me. Sometimes all you can do is the smallest thing but that is still worth it.

The fact that Bob has to stop beating The Void up and accept help from his loved ones in order to win, as an analogy for the fact that in order to beat depression you have to stop beating yourself up and accept help is everything to me.

when Bob says "just try to get used to it, okay? There's no death here." is such a sad line when you think that Bob may have tried, you know, testing death out here to no avail.

21:26 I liked the touch of, despite Alexei being the weakest of the three supersoldiers on the team, he’s so distraught that it still takes both Bucky & Walker to just barely hold him back.

This movie made me single-handedly fall in love with Wyatt Russell’s John Walker. Love what they’ve done with his character, and with how Wyatt portrays him.

Wyatt’s the one who suggested that John’s shame room have him ignoring his kid. That’s a guy who understands his character.

As someone with bipolar, Bob's struggles really hit me hard. It was a very weird experience seeing him represent those high highs and unbelievably low lows in a movie like this, and I was absolutely sobbing during the climax. The fact that they didn't save the world by destroying some bad guy, but instead by saving their friend from destroying himself just ... oof. Good movie

18:51 Walkers simple "...jesus" there absolutely KILLS me, he's like, not even offended at what she said, almost more in awe of just how brutal she's going off

I appreciated that Bob is still grappling with his mental illness by the end, and he's not magically cured. It's realistic, yet hopeful, since he now has a support system on his side.

This was pointed out in another video but I love how Valentina pitted them all against their weaknesses in the bunker fight scene.  Taskmaster can read and copy all of Walker’s moves and he’s weaker against her because he has no gadgets or powers that taskmaster doesn’t have.  John walker is a strong super soldier so he can overpower yelena with brute force.  Yelena is a sneaky assassin type so she’s the one most likely to be able to catch ghost off guard before she phases.  Ghost can phase through objects, something taskmaster can’t copy.

Theres a throwaway line from Bucky were he basically informs everyone that Johns wife took his kid. I think it was "i know its been tough since she took the kids". That to me may imply that Bucky had been checking on Walker after Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

I also want to give credit to the fact that they made “getting voided“ look different from The Snap, but honestly kind of scarier initially

Sad that Val's line "Righteousness without power is just an opinion" didn't get a nod, because it's perfectly written as something close to a good point while also being the kind of language that's often used to justify atrocities

There should be a separate win counter for every time they said “Bob”

Me and my friends decided to play a Marvel TTRPG game and we've quickly realized that we're the Thunderbolts, not the Avengers. We have an introverted Iron Man, a Captain America with PTSD, a country Quicksilver, an Irish Scarlet Witch, a fairy from Alfheim, the Punisher and Spider-Man. None of us are truly heroic, we're all trying our best

25:50 ABSOLUTELY FLOORED ME in the theater. For this whole movie, Alexi seems like the totally happy to be there father encouraging his daughter to make friends and have fun, the  out of nowhere Alexi just drops “I’m gonna kill that person” and it was such a total shift and it caught me so off guard that I had to cover my mouth to stop myself from Cracking up. It took me like a full 30 seconds to recover.

You missed the moment where Yelena tells Valentina that they own her now; they know enough of her dirty secrets to keep her in check, and now that they're public superheroes Valentina can't disappear them like she tried in the beginning. And if they fail as a concept, she goes down with them. Fantastic way to show how her machinations have backfired.

The voiding effect is essentially the nuclear bomb shadow effect. The instantaniousness makes it as punchy as it should be. Whomever came up with that deserves praise.

A friend told me that Taskmaster had a “mind blowing” character arc before I watched it in theaters. He certainly wasn’t wrong… glad to see I wasn’t the only one shocked by the twist

Love the parallels to depression. When they hug/restrain Bob at the climax, he is the one who makes the final decision to help himself and stop punching. Just like depression, at the end of the day, even with all of the love and support, Bob had to be the one to decide to stop punching. While it may be comic accurate (truly don’t know) his memory loss is also a symptom of depressive episodes. There are others i can’t think of off the top of my head, but truly amazing writing from a superhero film.

22:45 Just, for the record... the Void isn't punishing Bob in his own shame room. Bob is punishing himself. And that's why the group hugging him while he was pummeling Boib was so touching: making him realize he didn't need to hate himself anymore to gain control.
