Niki Lauda himself said the film was 80% accurate which is saying a lot. Basically the main divergence from history was overplaying their rivalry. They were actually roommates early in their career and did a lot of stuff together. RIP James Hunt & Niki Lauda

I used to vacuum the lungs of my father who had lung cancer. He was old , fragile but still my Hero.
As long as there is hope or someone , you keep standing and fight.

Ever since the 1976 season, I thought they should make a movie of it. Then I'd think, "Nah, even Hollywood writers would think it's too unbelievable."

The Nurburgring in Germany is still in use today and is actually better known as "The Green Hell"

Hella's enthusiasm for the movie is so infectious. 🤣 And Yuna and Katie were great in this reaction, too!

As someone who saw this in theaters back in 2013 and remembers all the (well-deserved) hype surrounding its release, it took me way too long (12 1/2 years) to realize the name "Rush" was likely not just chosen as a generic "go fast" name for a racing movie, but could also be interpreted as a nod to Lauda's "rushed" recovery from serious injury.

Even the most formidable adversaries on and off the track can eventually have respect for each other.

Read an article about Lauda in later years, on a visit to the Nurburgring. He was wandering about, looking thoughtful, when someone asked what he was looking for. "My ear," was his reply.

Hella: "the board didn't update!!! Just like my Google maps" 😂❤

42:40 Lauda abandoned the race because of the bad weather, but three other drivers quit the race as well

36:46 I love the way Hela gets so into the movies!

"maybe she can change him!" being a world wide sarcastic joke is so funny!

Hunt didn't sacrificed his victory, no one would do that. It was bad luck.
You girls are so amazing and thoughtful. I love this channel!

For real, the racing scenes and the camera work and sound on the racecar engines is just superb in this film. Ron Howard is great at this (Apollo 13 and the Saturn V rocket was maybe the most impressive bit of cinema I'd yet seen, at the time) and he absolutely nailed it in this film.

39:00 James didn't sacrifice his championship.. what happened is his engine blew up...

Niki Lauder had his own airline, where the flight attendants wore blue jeans and baseball caps. I flew on "Lauder Air" once.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time

23:20 "The hell you have done? The car is evil."

lmfao, that line made me laugh out loud.

Awesome reaction, ladies!  I'm so happy you reacted to this movie, it made my day. 😍🥰

It's hard for me to put into words what an incredible person Nikki Lauda was.  After retireing from driving, he became a very successful businessman and an exceptionnal consultant for F1 teams.  In real life, Lauda and Hunt were true friends, even being roommates for a while.

In the 70s, F1 cars were so much less reliable and safe than today, and track security was horrible.  Lauda trived at a time the sport was extremely competitive.

This era of formal 1 was dangerous and the drivers had the egos to match.
