Our hair and our beauty has always been based upon a European standard of beauty. We have been told for years and conditioned like you say to think that our hair is nappy. It's ugly all those terminologies that they use to describe our hair. When, in fact, we had strong beautiful natural hair. Why is it only that when it straightened? Do we love ourselves? And that's what we had to get away from, and yet a lot of changes, a lot of the naturalness is, you know, is pushed now which is wonderful. We got the the laws to protect us in the  work Place with our hair braids but we still kind of compare ourselves to that European standard. And by putting the weaves in and all that that's part of it, so we've got a recondition our children and our younger girls to say, Hey, your natural hair is beauty. Your natural hair is beautiful, okay, and  you ever think about it like when we go to events or something we always say, oh I got to straighten my hair, why do we have to straighten our hair? Why? Because in those white spaces we feel dont okay, we've gotta make it look good, but it's already looks good.  It already, it's natural. I love the days that you look back in history. In the 70s, and a lot of people wore afros, it's natural. Our hair was not meant to be straight, but we've done this to assimilate into the white spaces and what white society says is beautiful. We need to take back the narrative for our hair, and we need to condition ourselves to think about us, in our natural states and how beautiful we are, how beautiful our hair is. It comes in many curl patterns, it's beautiful in itself.
