This is a re-upload of my popular videos on Andor from my previous channel. Maybe they will find an audience again here someday, but I just wanted to bring them back for posterity. This video explores the brilliance behind the narrative structure of Andor Season 1 and what makes it stand out as a masterpiece in long-form storytelling not just for Star Wars but for ALL of television. And before you ask, yes I know now that irregardless isn't a word and that Andor's prison sentence was extended to 6 YEARS not 6 MONTHS.

Unfortunately I will likely not ever make a video on season 2 as it didn't quite inspire me as much creatively to want to do it. Not that it isn't great it just didn't floor me quite as much as the first season for a multitude of personal reasons. While I view season 1 as virtually flawless by any measure of significance, season 2 had quite a few elements that irked me and undermined the quality as a whole.

Appreciate this striking the algorithm again. Just goes to prove how starved the Star Wars community is for more quality content now that Andor is over with nothing really promising on the horizon 😅. Per the description, a video on season 2 is unlikely as this is merely a reupload from my last channel I deleted that I created a couple years ago. Life has changed since and I don't necessarily have the time to commit to such a deep dive. But I hope you still subscribe and stick around in the case that I do end up making a shorter video for s2 and for my other media analysis/commentary videos coming up. Thanks for stopping by!

I am still obsessed with this show a full year after it ended. I will literally watch full Andor reactions from any reactor, well known or not, and I’ve recommended it to family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances. Hell, I’d probably recommend it to random strangers on the street if that wouldn’t come across as unhinged or borderline harassment.

I grew up watching the original trilogy, and over the years I’ve been disappointed by... let’s just say a lot of Star Wars content. Some of it is great, some decent, and a lot of it is... well, you know.

Not until Andor did I feel that same core feeling I had watching the OG trilogy as a kid. Even with Rogue One, which I thought was a really good movie when I first saw it, I never felt what Andor made me feel.

It is the best thing made in the SW universe.
I read most of the Expanded Universe pre disney books, and many of the more recent stuff. Ream many of the comics. And saw most of the live action and animated shows. Nothing compares.

My reaction to learning that they are making Andor was "why? What for?."

Then I watched it. And you are correct. If this was a WWII drama about the French or Soviet or Polish of Yugoslavian resistance, all the Emmys. But it's a silly space show. B

I've been a diehard fan of the franchise for three decades, and I firmly assert that Andor as a whole is the single greatest piece of Star Wars media ever produced. Better than any movie, book, game, series or short story. This is a hill which I would happily die on.

Cassian wasn't just being harassed by the security agents. It was armed robbery. Their boss knew they were shaking people down so he wasn't really interested in an investigation of his blatantly corrupt department.

Thank you for such a sensitive, in-depth analysis of this shockingly good Star Wars TV show. I caught Star Wars in the theaters as a kid in 1977 and I'll never forget how thrilling it was. The first and second movies were great sci-fi action cinema. I'm sure tens of millions of fans disagree, but in the following 40 years nothing else in the Star Wars Universe was as good as these two films (Rogue One is almost the exception). And then along comes Andor, whose greatness is of a different sort than that of Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back. The first two films are like jet-skiing, while Andor is like scuba-diving.
