I remember when all that was going on. That was big news, this is a fantastic documentary

I never get tired watching stuff about the original Mayhem

I love it when YouTube channels try to cover something with realities within.

I've always thought Varg looks like the son of Lars Ulrich

I grew up during this era and this never gets old. It was such a wild time!

Very interesting!    Also, you did a great job not putting fillers in your vid. Much appreciation .

I'll never pass up an opportunity to rewatch the story of Mayhem, it's so fascinating and never ceases to intrigue me. All the mythos behind the bands and infamy of the members are so interesting, and though I'm not a huge fan of Black Metal per se (with a few exceptions) the lore behind the genre is unique and extreme, I just love learning about it! Still a metal head to this day, Death Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Death Core, Metal Core, Thrash, and especially Progressive Metal and Progressive Death Metal, pretty much whatever, I respect it all and the scene will never truly die. Charge on my fellow metalheads, charge on! \m/ \m/

I’m like I’ll watch a few mins of this I’m a fan. End up glued and captivating until the end.

This is sent out to the first man I ever truly loved. He may have been younger, however,  he taught me so much.
Here's to you Tristan Murphy.

The book The Ritual, I read a couple months ago, makes way more sense now knowing the Black Metal history. Thanks!

Say what you will about Varg, but he created a sound like no other.

Back in the day you could get duel cassette tape players which where like a portable boom box that had two cassette capacity.
But you could record both the radio as well as copy tapes by playing the audio in one deck then recording from the other tape deck on a blank tape.
But people found out that you could record yourself on one tape  then put in on and record on a second tape both what was on the first tape plus a new track on top through the mic installed in the player.
Then both the audio from the first recorded tape plus what you added live through the mic both recorded on the second tape.
Then you could take the second tape play the audio of the two tracks then record a new track on top of the previous two tracks so you could essentially create multiple layed tracks or demos yourself.
So like a stone age multi track recording unit.
I learned this and used to create my own terrible multi track recordings myself lol

This is quality watching.

Awesome episode brother good narration.

"Lets find out!"

Amazing work as always

Let’s find out!!

Its not surprising that they were motivated by boredom. Thats the same reason why most punk bands come from the suburbs.

old burzum albums are some of the best bm releases in that scene!
