EDIT: Celtic Frost is from Switzerland, not Sweden as I stated here.

This video aims to tell THIS STORY to a broader audience while also holding it up to other evolutions and events that I have covered before. This video is extremely commentary-heavy. Your interpretation of the events and how they affected the greater genre may be totally different from mine.

Dead is really the most tragic part of the whole story of Mayhem. He needed help so badly but everyone around him only took advantage of him. Even after his death, his depression is being taken advantage of.

Just watched your Pantera video and then saw this get uploaded! You should keep up these long form videos

It's a real shame that Dead killed himself. He was/is the best death metal vocalist imo, and Mayhem could've ruled the world of only Euronymous wasn't such a fucking dick.

I’d love to see you do a video on Death think it would be cool asf and be interesting to see your take on the band.

This is a corner of metal that I don't dabble in (its not my thing), so thank you for breaking it down in a digestible way.

One of my friends showed me these guys once in high school. He knew that I didn't like black metal but was like, "Okay, I know you're going to hate this, but hear me out: these guys will make Cradle Of Filth sound like PanterA." I said, "I know I'm gonna regret this, but alright..." He put it on, and as soon as the vocals started, I said, "Turn it off."

Back when I was a teenager we had this foreign exchange student from Sweden at our school. After he went home we used to exchange tapes in the mail. He'd get American bands that he couldn't otherwise and vice versa. He sent me a tape of Mayhem. It was some bootleg of a live show. They were unknown here at the time and I wasn't all that impressed. A few years later I heard De Mysteriis and liked it

That was a great video! I have already heard all the information before, but I watched the entire video. Great job

Look up DarkThrones later work Specifically the Fuck off and Die record, it's basically modern Black Metal with a old school Venom flavor they call the style Black N Roll. Hell Riper, Road Head and Vomit Beast are a few other bands of this Black Metal Sub Genre.

Black Metal is more of emotion and mental state. In Florida you don't have snowy winters, but you could one night, shut the lights off, open the windows so the breeze is gently cooling your room and slam Dark Throne's "Transylvanian Hunger" or Emperor's album "In The Nightside Eclipse". Both are considered highlights of second wave Black Metal. https://youtu.be/BTrVaNmDmbk?si=nz0e_wN5uo-_N3Tt

Been waiting for this one, i figured you'd eventually get to it. Well done, Enjoyed it alot.

Since you dont like early Black metal i would recommend more modern stuff with polished production.

This was a good video. When it comes to metal I like a wide array and I find black metal unique in the fact that it sounds soooo much different from the traditional metal sound and the bands we think of when we think of metal music (Black Sabbath, Slayer, Judas Priest, Slipknot .etc). My favorite black metal band by far has to be Bathory. I did give Mayhem a listen and will say I really like their song "Follow The Freezing Moon". Very heavy.
