Discovering Vtubers has been one of the decisions I’ve made in my life because I’m technically not rewatching chubby electron dudes video for like the 4th time I am listening to anime girl the same way the helpless zoomers need subway surfers to watch TikTok

you can always donate some toys to the Toys for Tots program that the Marine Corps runs.

Fun Fact: The Korean War is known by the monicker “The Forgotten War” because it took place between WWII and  Vietnam.

However, a LOT of stories of heroism came out of that war.

Off the top of my head I can name several: Sgt Reckless (of course).

The tank battle at Obung-Ni where several Soviet T-34 tanks ran roughshod over the UN forces until they were stopped cold by 3 M26 Pershing tanks.

Medal of Honor recipient Thomas Hudner who purposely crashed his aircraft so he could run to the aid of his wingman who had been shot down and who’s plane was burning. However, despite all efforts the wingman, Ensign Jesse Brown, would succumb to his injuries.

The Battle of the Chosin Reservoir which by many historians is regarded as one of the bloodiest, fiercest, and deadliest combat actions in the war and in US history but also one of the most important campaigns in the war.

On a lighter note, the ‘Temper Temper’ incident comes to mind.

USS Wisconsin, an Iowa-class battleship, was performing artillery support duties when a North Korean 155mm artillery shell hit one of her AA mounts dealing superficial damage and wounding three crewmen.

In response, Wisconsin turned all 9 of her 16in guns toward the emplacements, deleting it and the hull it was on, from existence with one broadside.

Afterwords, the destroyer USS Duncan, one of Wisky’s escorts, approached and transmitted two words: “Temper, Temper.”

Wisconsin would reply: “They started it!”

I’m pretty sure there are SEVERAL videos on YouTube about these instances. If you’re curious about the Korean War, I’d recommend seeing if any of them strikes your fancy for a react video.

0:40 I was just about to say…he’s beautiful

Is 5 am. Must sleep. Will be back. Reckless good horse and good Marine. Good night.

We need her movie. Forget Seabiscuit. Give me Reckless.

As well as 2 purple hearts, in 2016 Sgt Reckless was also posthumously awarded the prestigious PDSA Dickin Medal, the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross the highest award for animals in military conflict,. It was  established in 1943 by Maria Dickin, founder of the veterinary charity the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA), it honors animals (like dogs, pigeons, horses, and even a cat) for extraordinary bravery and devotion to duty while serving with armed forces or civil defense, recognizing their vital role in saving lives during wars and by god she deserves that award

As a Marine vet, I don’t worry about you not donating, it’s all good, you’re getting the word out, good enough for me, Nic is pretty big time.

Sgt. Reckless is my spirit animal.

A lot of mascots from wars went on to inspire people to make books and stories one of these was a black bear named Winnipeg from a Canadian faction created one of the worlds most beloved character: Winnie the pooh

In school we did learn about them using the horse's in the war but we were actually taught about Sgt skully now if you have never heard of him he was actually a bulldog who thought in the British war his owner took him to the war with him. And he was actually a VERY smart dog because one thing that he was SO clever for was actually warning them about the gas attacks so basically he would smell the gas coming through and he barked for them to put the masks on. And that actually saved them from gas attacks and after the war he was actually given medals and rewards for his bravery and cleverness there are actually pictures of him with his medals on and he is dead now unfortunately but his legacy lives on forever and he was also given a movie he actually has a movie that I'm not sure if it's out yet but they actually did give him a an animated film that basically tells us about his time in the war and his bravery.

Warhorse is a WW1 movie, not about Reckless, that was the Korean war lol

No nation has 100 mile range artillery.  The US's new shells have a range of a reported range of 45 miles.
The North Korean military is a paper army. Defectors from the North consistently report that they have little to no fuel. To the point their pilots have been seen running on the tarmac with plywood aircraft bodies to practice maneuvers.
There are a number of youtube videos where the defectors tell us just how bad it is in NK.
One was even in an army unit who's sole job it was to forage for food and medical herbs.

Notice the pop-up during the Chinese smell like garlic at 24:50. You have underneath in the pop -up Michael Caine's garlic phobia.
The actor himself served in the Korean war before his acting career and you can find an audio interview in which he talks about his experience.
He stated that he's military past is what gave him so many war film roles but always felt uneasy.
One instance was the Film Battle of Britain which saw a huge patriotic duty by all actors and film crew to the point almost everyone was willing to be on half-pay in-order to fund the film over-all. Michael Caine didn't want his role in the film because he though he was too young, He was then told he was actual older than all most pilot during the real battle.

And yes NK has all those artillery systems. That can all do that, they all work. 100% remember Russia has over 20,000 tanks, sure they do, if you count none operational and will never operate again hulls, if you count t those numbers, the US is still ahead, who do you think built their factories in the 20’s and 30’s? Oh yeah, the US and showed them how to mass produce heavy industry and funded it, oh yeah, us (US) and have over 4,000 operational tanks in WWII…yep, us.

3rd Battalion 5th Marines, SSgt Reckless. Enjoyed my 4 years with them, A very proud history.

I loved Ember dying during the ad read lol. I knew a bit about the Korean War because growing up I watched reruns of M.A.S.H. with my uncle, but in public schools in Tennessee, it was literally never mentioned.

Never ever underestimate the USMC's Lance Corporal Underground

The Jackass is literally the Army's mascot.

I remember a documentary about bomb sniffing dogs in Afghanistan and there was this marine who was in patrol with his unit, and a taliban fighter through a frag at him and it went off, dude woke up with his dog dead on him, she had taken most of the frag. Watching about broke up he was about it, tears in his eyes nearly crying. Really hit hard. The binds humans can form with animals is some serious shit.
