Only BM can make rage and killing enemies sound so sweet.

Hell yeah, dude! This was the first track on Babymetal's most recent, 5th album (4th studio album), released last year in Aug. They also performed this with Poppy on stage at the O2 in London last May. Jordan Fish helped compose this song. He used to be a member of Bring Me The Horizon, which Babymetal has collaborated with before (Kingslayer ft. Babymetal). He is now working with Poppy.

Poppy was a pop singer and YouTuber who turned metal, and she is amazing. Her earlier stuff is really weird, but I really like her most recent 2 albums. Check out her song, They're All Around Us (MV).

Here are some "horror" themed Babymetal suggestions for you:

Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014): Look for the video from "The Hymnodic" channel; it has subtitles. This is one of Babymetal's darker songs. 0% cute, 100% ominous and brutal. You'll also see BABYMETAL's 1st band, Kami East, being showcased here.

Song 3 ft. Slaughter to Prevail (MV): BABYMETAL gets Alex Terrible to do the 2-step? Lol. Heavy AF and brutal. Didn't expect anything less from STP.

"With this rage inside of me
Kimi ni todoke. Kimi ni todoke (From me to you. From me to you.)
Maybe now we can kill the enemy."
- A classic kawaii metal song.   : )
Like a lot of fans, based on the lyrics I think of this as an internal dialog.
Poppy represents repressed rage, and BABYMETAL transform that into something positive.
Poppy's been singing for a while, but the screaming is more recent.
There are recent collaborations with Bad Omens and Knocked Loose.
She performed 'Suffocate' with Knocked Loose on the Jimmy Kimmel show, which resulted in a lot of "that's not really music" comments.   : )
If you liked this one, you should check out 'Kingslayer'.
I'd recommend the Live in Tokyo version.
It's a Bring Me the Horizon song, featuring BABYMETAL.
Jordon Fish was very involved in both.
He left BMTH a while ago, and has been working with Poppy.

Good reaction.  There is an official live video from the performance at the O2 in London last year as well.
Poppy (she is from Boston) started out making weird videos on Youtube, then progressed to pop music and more recently to metal (she has said she is a fan of and was inspired by BABYMETAL).  She was the main support act for BABYMETAL's arena tour of Europe and the UK in May last year.
I have to say she was one of the better support acts I've seen with BABYMETAL, she also has a nice singing voice to go with her screams.

In the live performance Poppy was moving about a lot more than in the MV, but she didn't turn into the Poppy Monster at the end.

😄"With this rage inside of me"😄 Honestly I've never figured out comprehensively the meaning of this song. That said I'm so sure of the positivity innate in Babymetal that the message is positive. This is a super collab IMO. And no group has ever made rage seem so endearing!

There is a great live collab of this at the O2 in London in May of 2025. You may appreciate it for your own listening pleasure. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xN5gmLzQWSE

Poppy toured with Babymetal as the main support act in Europe last year. She is very good and has a nice voice in addition to the screaming in this track. She came out to perform this live with them in Berlin and London. The video of the London (O2 Arena) performance is available on YouTube. She didn't change into the 'Poppy Monster' live of course but she was a lot more animated on stage. I was one of the 20,000 audience incidentally. A great show.

The me and you in the song is you and the rage inside of you. You are trying to hide the rage. Once you face it, once you face your own rage in an honest moment, you have a new partner that helps you overcome your enemies.

"Whoever writes their music" - apart from their producer Kobametal they have no fixed writers. Even at the beginning their songs were collaborations between legendary musicians, bringing all styles of heavy metal into the hat. Sometimes they have featuring musicians who only write and play the guitar solo, sometimes the whole music part is written by the featuring band and BABYMETAL adds "only" vocals and arrangement. Some people call this setup "manufactured" but I like to say that they have been a supergroup since the beginning.

Great reaction, thanks! Yep, that's Su-metal, don't worry, you're good, haha...
"from me to u" is a collaboration with Jordan Fish (ex Bring Me The Horizon and Poppy's producer), who decided to add her to the equation. It turned out pretty well.  😁
Yes, there is a key change in the final chorus. If you pay attention, the color palette of the visuals also changes from red to blue. They pay close attention to detail.
You mentioned a very important and distinctive feature of BABYMETAL’s songs: the transitions. Their songwriters are masters at this. It’s worth noting that Poppy and Jordan Fish contributed to the songwriting, along with MK-Metal (Miki Watanabe) on the BABYMETAL side.
🤘🦊

You're right, how this production manages to "blend" heavy metal with J-Pop/Idol melodies is truly unique. So far, I'm unaware of any other band doing it as well. This single accomplishment sets them apart. They invented it. And yes, the song's about supporting each other to overcome something: "We can kill our enemy"

👍👍An awesome MV. I believe the message is to tame your inner demons (hate/anger) with love. My thought process is “Let’s kill this enemy”. Hate and anger can very well destroy the person from within, thus your enemy. Su’s voice is so calm and soothing before Poppy transforms, and BABYMETAL has always been about love. At the end the sky changes from Red to Blue. Great reaction sir.   🖖❤

Seen this performed live at BabyMetals O2 Arena show in London in 2025 better live and Poppy was a bit more animated than she was here . Not a big scremo fan but it blended well here 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

Great reaction, Yes Suzuka (Su-metal) was in the middle. Their concert last Saturday was amazing as always it's a outdoor venue and it was hot but they never missed a beat or slacked off. We are lucky to live in a time when 3 Japanese women show the world how concerts are suppose to be for the fans. Happy you're continuing your journey down the fox hole. 🦊

Yes you was right Su-metal lead Singer , and backup vocals and dance Moa- metal and Momo-metal , if you did growl vocals for 30 years you might want to see what Momo-metal can do…we call her Momozilla , then you should listen to ”Song 3” with Slaugher to prevail.

Most metal (no data to support this and oversimplified) has a general theme of outward aggression. On the other hand Babymetal, for the most part, when there is aggression it is pointed to the self; completely and overly simplified it says "I need to do better". Largely because of this I think this song is about battling the inner demon, self and angry self talking back and forth. I could be completely wrong, just my thought on it.

This Song was for them the perfect CoronaSong. We simply conected our wish for alive Song with Su's Voice. And so the European Festivals followed our wish, we wanted to hear them so they would doeverything to bring them to us.

I remember the day of the premiere of that song on You Tube and I was realy mesmerized and overwhelmed for  some Moments.  I heard it a couple of times that day by it self and in many reactions  and I am fascinated every time.  For me it is one of my favorite collab-somgs from the new album. Because I was also wittness of the world-premier of a common  stage performance  with Poppys participation on stage of  that song  in May in Berlin last year this song a a special place in the my private BabyMetal discography.
🦊🦊🦊 For the Fox-God 🦊🦊🦊

The monster is Poppy she turned into the monster right before your eyes

Let’s go!!! 🔥🦊🔥

Even the 2 or 3 Babymetal songs that are “meh” to me, I can’t deny the technical aspects regarding instrumental arrangements are always top-notch.

Hence the 16 years of success 🦊

Still waiting for you to react the Babymetal's BxMxC .  (Be SURE to choose a live version, not the music video.)  And if you want to see another  song with Babymetal along with a screamer, try My Queen, which I think is deeper than this.
