Babymetal x Metal x Cypher
"Babymetal is one word. There is not a space in it. There has never been a space in it."

Spot on analysis!

お見事！　貴方のおっしゃる通りです。　これはMETALの新しい方向を探る試みのひとつです。　今のBABYMETALは、常にヘビー・メタルの先頭にあろうと努力しています。

Nice one.  We didn't know Su could rap ... even Su didn't know Su could rap.😁
I have 'borrowed' this information (again) -
"They talked about 'BxMxC' in an interview.
SU-METAL: That was my first rap experience. For most of my recordings up until now, I would sing “la la laa” to create a sort of vocal line, and then lyric writing began based on that.  But it was different for this track, they had a backing track and lyrics, and then told me to try rapping. So at first I was still trying to figure it out. In hiphop they call it…it was like…ah, I forget!
MOAMETAL: Wasn’t it…f-…fall?
SU-METAL: Uh…what was it…
KOBAMETAL (their producer): Flow?
SU-METAL: Flow! (laughs) To get a feel for the flow, I made a lot of different attempts to figure out what would be good. Like how to descend and ascend in pitch, and which timing would be the best to try the pitch changes. Even for the same phrase I’d try going a little ahead of the beat or a little bit behind it, while keeping the whole track’s balance in mind."

BxMxC (the x's are punctuation of course) probably stands for "BABYMETAL Cypher".  However,
I'm still going with "Bring Moa Chicken". 🍗
Also from an interview, the first question was:
Q1: "How are you feeling now?"
Moa: "Hungry! I need fried chickens."

There were a lot of fans really didn't like this song when it was released, the autotune and effects they used in the studio threw them off (it was a stylistic choice) and many didn't think they could or would be able to play it live.  Happily they were proved very wrong and, as you saw for yourself, Su absolutely kills this live.
More recently they have been adding electronic effects to her vocals in the live performances of 'BxMxC' - personally I think that is a shame, it was better before they started to do that.

Heavy indeed! At a live concert "BxMxC" hits like a freight train 😁

This is one of their songs that I feel like is there for Su-Metal to flex and have fun.

There are a lot of live versions out there (the O2 Arena show in London for example) where they haven't added any affects to Su"s vocals during the rap part. I think that's better.

Good one, thanks!
Yep, "BxMxC" probably stands for BABYMETAL Cypher (or BABYMETAL Metal Cypher) but we prefer Bring Moa Chicken. Because she loves food and she always makes sure everyone knows. 🤣
I admit I wasn't so sure when the studio version first came out. Not much into hip-hop (sorry) and even less into voice effects (the studio track has a ton of them). But then I listened to the version from the Legend Metal Galaxy live album and I had to change my mind. Definitely, Su-metal kills it live, the Kami Band sounds brutally heavy and the choreo is absolutely badass. Lesson learned!
Now I'm lucky enough to have seen it performed live a few times and I really enjoy it.
🤘🦊

Su is basically telling so called rappers to pick up their game because she is coming for them.

Like 2015's Road Of Resistance, 2016's Karate (& also reflectively with 2023's Monochrome PIA Arena Version), 2019's BxMxC is BM's periodic response to the gatekeepers -- by brazenly beating them at their game through music (memorably fusing with power metal, djent, Evanescence-esque alt metal, & trap respectively) in lieu of feuding with the haters online.

It's also kinda the coup de grace for the Black Babymetal project, a year after Yui quit. Su proved that she was ready to handle the heavier songs (which the subunit used to niche at in their early/mid teens), even prevailing in performing BxMxC live without autotune (unlike the studio version). Notice how the Kami Band's thunderous cacophony didn't disrupt her "flow" either.

FYI The "cypher" here is traditional rap slang for those (shared/non-confrontational) lyrical showcases where OG pioneers used to huddle & take turns "dropping bars & spitting fire" over a continuous beat. True to their innovativeness, BM creatively usurped that artistic framework for the metal arena (the lyrics mentioned "tekina metal cypher", which means "something like a metal(ized) cypher"), with Su endeavoring to "boast & brag" (attempted one-upmanship through superior wordplay, cadence & delivery). That said, rap cyphers aren't adversarial (unlike rap battles or diss tracks), but rather meant to celebrate verbal skills & technical chops.

BM also took the sting out further by playfully reviving their "Tenkaichi Metal Budokai" (The World's Greatest Metal Martial Arts Tournament) byline in the BxMxC MV, where Su/Moa were tasked to duel with Mortal Kombat-type "boss" characters. This mock combat-arena motif was something they've utilized twice before in real life, as concert subtitles for 2014's Red Night Budokan (10,000) & 2015's Makuhari Messe gig (25,000). Guess what? The name itself was cheekily appropriated from Dragon Ball Z's "Tenkaichi Budokai" story arcs & videogames (lol).

🍑 ⚡ 💕 / 🕶 🎤 🍗 - Great choice.
The Mortal Combat/Street Fighter style music video for this one is a fun one as well.
'BxMxC' is a great reminder.
Never bet against Su, and what she's able to pull off.
Either in the studio, or live.
This was a huge hit on the 2020 European tour.

BABYMETAL!!!

Seen live it's even better . I was right in front of Su at Roundhouse in London when she did the rap part so good live . 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

Good job👊🏽⚡️The live version brings the super low chunky riffage.  An awesome juxtaposition with the young ladies vocals.  The guitars used for the song are  ESP custom 9-stringers,  made special for Babymetal .

You should watch Bling Bang Bang Born by Creepy Nuts. The one great Japanese rap song. It has 520 million views.

The anime it was made for is pretty good too. Funny. It's about this guy without magic in a world where everyone has magic and those without magic are executed. But he's just ridiculously physically strong and everyone who comes after him just gets punched in the face. He's basically Superman.

No matter what a person thinks of BMC, the song rating jumps to a 10 of 10 when witnessed live in person. Although I have heard rumors that they have recently added some vocal effects back in so that doesn't sound too appealing to me.

Watch the Official Version video and it will become much clearer to you what's going on.

Let’s go!!! 🔥🦊🔥

Considering their attitude, "cypher" here more likely includes the audience, and the fandom.

I heard this in a 1,300-seat Heritage Building and Anthony Barone's drums almost levelled the building. Crowd went insane with it, a real crowd pleaser a real shame when it dropped out of the playlists.

If you are keen to see the band better there are some great songs with Kami band intro. in the title a favourite from me is if you want to see the Kami Band East (the older one) Rondo of Nightmare Live at The Budokan with Kami Band Intro. and for the newer band not the current one check out "Kagerou" Live at Legend MM with Kami Band Intro.

Hey keen to hear your take on the Thai 16 year old that just one AGT, I have never watched an episode in my life but she has been blowing up on YT. Check out Nene Royal "Zombie" AGT audition then, her doing "Hysteria" by muse and "Blackhole Sun" by Soundgarden.

Or just check her out playing: "Master of Puppets - NENE ROYAL FANCAM - River of Life: - Mahakan Fort Park - 26 JUL 2026" it's a Fan Cam but the video and audio is very good.
