On this week’s episode, Brad and Eric put the patrons to do all the work collecting data and filling up spreadsheets so we can confirm what we already know: Warhammer is expensive. That’s it. No need to watch the episode and get depressed about your faction. Definitively not watch this with your wife by your side. Don’t look at your pile of shame. Just… pretend everything is alright and things will get better. I’m sure.

The classic video where I am told I should have joined the hobby years ago when I had no money, no local scene and no access to models.

My army isn't experiencing shrinkage, my army case is just cold.

40k is so expensive that these guys could only afford one A for their thumbnail.

23:19 "Because I hate myself and I like numbers!"

Yeah dude, we know. You play Warhammer.

I had just north of 9000 points of Tau at the end of 9th edition.
At the start of 10th edition I suddenly only had 7500ish points of Tau without losing a single model.

@TheKeksmuzh 2 days ago

Just fell to my knees in a Denny’s parking lot after hearing that Tau number.

@Triptides77 2 days ago

Tau player here.
I feel like we're laying a premium for our drones which are no longer actual models as per the rules, but are still counted as models on the boxes. I don't even bring drones anymore except for when I field Ghostkeels to track their damage-null ability.

Basically, we're forced to pay for models that aren't even actually models in the current rules.

If the Thousand Sons shrink any further, we wont even have dust left to fill our armor with

Krootox Riders are even worse than you guys suggested. You can take them in squads of 3, and the points per model decreases. So it's actually $50 for a 30 point model. The dollar per point is so bad that even if you get proxies or recasts, you're still paying a dollar per point.

@StylishYeoman 2 days ago

At some point in the future the dollar amount for Tau will reach the Yen amount for Gunpla

I play Guard, and my local game store has the OLD baneblade kit. I was staring at it like "I don't need another Baneblade, but the kit is ass now and I don't wanna buy the new one"

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only spreadsheets.

Great. Just great, all around. Now let's see Eric's feet tier list.

Did you know Tyranids are uniquely excluded from this phenomenon?
GW set a codenamed threshold based on an (at the time) new model hidden in one of their shareholder docs to make this the case.
Google barbed ovipositor inflation to find out more.

I was there when the Spotify episode said “Shinkflation” 😢

@davidcanty7903 2 days ago

Chaos Knights. In fact the opposite, they want me to take MORE wardogs

@kyle857 2 days ago (edited)

In nature, everything tends to turn into a crab. In Warhammer, everything tends to turn into a horde army.

Edit. 46:50 Damn it, you guys made the same joke... 😂

@Nick_the_Salamander 2 days ago

The rebranded Warhammer plastic glue has two less ounces and is 2$ more expensive

@justincurtiss3388 2 days ago (edited)

I enjoyed how Canis Rex got sick of the imperium and joined Death Guard

42:47 the thing is in the lore guard fields multi regiment task forces like this all the time with the different kind of guardsme all working together , that’s what made the first gaunts ghost book awesome because it was multiple guardsmen regiments working together utilizing their strengths and covering for the others weaknesses, this is pretty much a lore accurate list.
