I have a 2024 1.8 Corolla GR Sport. I took it in for its service yesterday, saw a red Excel Yaris Cross in the Toyota showroom and have to say it looked fabulous. I think it could be my next car!

I'm glad you're enjoying your YC, I have a Yaris Premiere 130hp, it's nippy enough. 95% of my driving is urban. Over the last two months I've been averaging 73mpg without any effort. I might consider an LBX for my next car.

Ive got a yaris cross excel four wheel drive excellent car

I find the panic braking system rather an annoyance. If I am driving along a main road and the system senses a car creeping slowly forward in a side road , it slaps on the brakes and the car behind nearly rams into us...There's also routinely backing the car into the garage....impossible without the emergency braking actuating several times. The noises it makes cause further panic. I've had to turn off the emergency parking assist which the car reminds me about every time I get into it and which I routinely acknowledge using the enter button. I would dearly love to silence it completely. When in adaptive cruise control on a straight road, holding the steering wheel with both hands, the system asks me to stop and rest because it thinks I am asleep there is simply no way to avoid this unless I dab the brakes, accelerate or jiggle the steering OR take it out of adaptive cruise control mode completely. This last issue , I am certain that there is a solution which I am not currently awar of.

It had automatic parking also,and did a perfect job on that. Cannot wsit to watch your experience with automatic parking your yaris cross.

I'm so glad my 2023 Corolla stays quiet. If I ever need to replace it, the first thing I'll check is the presence of those 'nanny' safety devices. That's a big nope from me.

In my year long ownership of a Cross, I find your fuel economy may Improve using D instead of B.

We bought a year-old Cross Excel about a month ago, and so far we by and large endorse all your positive comments about this great little car!   By default I use Shell E10 fuel (mainly because its the most convenient local filling station to us) but I am wondering why you prefer the E5 fuel?
Still figuring out the technology, in particular the Parking Assist.
Economy averaging over 60mpg at the moment, and I find the "time on EV" percentage quite astonishing - how on earth does it do that?!

Have you discovered the button that increases your overtaking speed? Make overtaking much easier.....in fact turns it into a rocket ship. And I'm not taking about the sport mode! It's in one of the driving menus.

I use a solar panel with built in controller, its connected to 12v battery 24/7 , just for my peace of mind.

Great looking car and I agree the silver /graphite sections both front and rear set it off. I recently bought a 2023 GR Sport Cross in "scorched orange". Just curious as to why you went for the Cross over the LBX? I like the luxury and quality interior of the LBX but at 68 I prefer the higher seating position of the Cross. P.S. Are you running the Cross on premium fuel?  Greetings from sunny Paisley.
