That WW2 Zombie movie "Overlord" was the best Resident Evil like movie i saw.

Resident Comedy

I had serious questions when every "review" was absolutely glazing it.

I thought weapons was mid at best, so, I was skeptical. It seemed like from the trailers, it was only related in name, for recognition.

Finally!!! A True Honest Review of This Hot Garbage Movie Shouldn't Even Be Called Resident Evil What a Joke and a insult To The RE Fans....Well True Real RE Fans Anyway

Zack had this script written literally four years ago , and it leaked online (I read it).  He was going to make it as a normal horror movie.  Constatine Films came to him, and paid him a decent amount of money to adjust the script and chance the name to Resident Evil.  CF needed to release an RE movie in 2026 or the film rights go back to Capcom.

Zach the Larper actually insulting RE Fans, He thinks we are Bryan stupid.

This movie is full of plot holes and characters make the dumbest decisions to move the plot forward

From the first scene this movie doesn't make any sense and here's why:

- Brians visits a random hospital to deliver whatever he is delivering and a nurse tells him to deliver this package to Racoon City.
We later learn this is the vaccine for the virus which makes no sense cause why would a random hospital in the middle of nowhere be able to produce the vaccine for the virus? Did Umbrella run out of labs? Is Umbrella in this movie just a bunch of dumb scientists cause in the games they are supposed to be this huge pharmaceutical conglomerate that has its grip around the world

- Brian encounters the zombie woman on the road and we later learn that her house is the farmhouse on the mountains far far away from Racoon City. The part that doesn't make sense is that we later learn that the virus only broke out 2 to 3 hours ago so how did the woman got infected when she lives way in the outskirts of Racoon City and the only way for her to drive back to her house was even blocked in the tunnel as we saw later? This makes zero sense for her to have gotten infected

- The cop lady dropping out of the car to save a random civilian even though they said that the priority is to take the vaccine to the Umbrella lab

- The Umbrella lab literally being at the top of a building which is easily accessible to reach with a helicopter which Umbrella can easily order and yet they send a random courier from a random hospital that somehow managed to produce a vaccine

This movie has so many dumb plot holes that the only way to enjoy it is to shut your brain off or be completely out of touch with the RE universe

Thanks for saving me money, knew I’d have similar views & opinions already as another long time fan of the series since childhood, so I’ll take your word for it; thanks again.

Another video game film where the filmmakers hate the audience

Edit: hold-on this could have been a dead rising movie...

As you said several times and that was my assessment weeks prior: Cregger is mocking players/video games. He's a comedian with, um, questionable humor from what I saw who thinks he's edgy. - the guy in the sewers is also probably a representation of us gamers.
Well, at least this, um, film "adaptation" convinced me to go back playing these games.

I wonder why his films get rated so high - Weapons was essentially recommended to me and it's a huge disappointment. Pretentious in my opinion. And that was my assessment before I knew Cregger was making "Resident Evil".

No one asked for a resident evil comedy yet this guy gets praised for making this crap. At this point its obvious we will never get a good resident evil movie.

Brian's actor would've been a great Brad Vickers 😂

100% agreed.  All the joke and stupidities completely took me out

honestly this might be the second worst Resident Evil Movie ever made only being beaten by the Netflix Adaptation. it doesn't feel like Resident Evil it feels more like a poorly done Silent Hill Movie....... which we already got this year.

20:37 that scene reminded me of a bad version of Infinite Darkness where Leon gets chased by infested rats.

You know what could have made Zach Cregger's Resident Evil movie so much better? If a recreation of the game's scenes and gameplay wasn't needed, he could have done a origin story of any of the characters we love like Ada, Carlos, Billy, Spencer and how he formed Umbrella, Miranda's story, how Stars became as they are, Sheva, Ethan and Mia's origin story and maybe show that Mia wasn't as bad as we think and she was blackmailed into doing the stuff she did due to Miranda, Lucas, The Four Lords, Bakers, The Duke and how he planned on helping Ethan restore his daughter only to help Miranda get her daughter back. Like have their origin stories to the point where they became the characters we know when they show up in their first ever scene they debuted in and end the movie there to encourage people to go play the games to find out what happens at the end of the origin movie of each character. Or if they wanted to go the recreation of scenes and gameplay in the adaptation, all he had to do is watch Coldshade's Resident Evil game movies and follow exactly what he did there. If Coldshade's game movies were too long like his Resident Evil 6 movie, he could split that into 3 or 4 parts. For example, part 1 of the Resident Evil 6 movie could be exactly what Coldshade had up until when Leon is introduced in Tall Oaks. Part 2 could be Leon Tall Oaks and Cathedral section. Part 3 could be the start of China until Jake and Sherry get captured by Simmons. Part 4 could be when Leon and Helena confront Simmons until the end. This would have been better.

The Tumbleweed monsters... made by Zach Cregger's Katamari virus.

Thank you for your honesty! I fully agree! 🙏🏻 I can’t understand the critics and audience’s score 🥴 This is not Resident Evil. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I was watching other reviewers saying wonders about this film, and I just couldn’t believe it.

It played like the director, wanted to make a straight to streaming "The Thing" aftermath pilot episode.

This entire movie can be summed up by the fact that Cregger is scared\bad at playing re games or he lowkey hates video games and that he seriously dislikes children. They shoehorn an unnecessary discussion about abortion that did nothing for the plot, They force a situation in the film where he has to shoot a mutated kid in the face and its played for laughs afterwards and ofc the maternity ward scene. Cregger dosen't like or doesn't wants kids and he shoehorned that dislike into this 'Resident evil' film. And just like weapons the ending is hopeless and meaningless.
