I love the theory the Game Makers dont evaluate the players by their survival or battle abilities, but yes for their capacity to entertain, that is why Peeta, who had a very settled but uninterest ability like brutal strengh still got an 8, cause of his performance before the private training, and, ofc, that is why Katniss got an 11, because she was the one to literally scream at them: LOOK AT ME, and that is EXACLY what the audience needs

The third theory is actually not as much of a theory as it is a reasonable assumption. In the 74th Hunger Games, the Gamemakers changed the rule because they wanted Katniss and Peeta to be the final 2. More than that, they wanted to watch Katniss kill Peeta and become the victor who betrayed the boy who loved her for years. They needed her character assassination because of the stunt she performed with Rue. Katniss dying in the arena would make her a martyr, but making her the lone victor in such cruel fashion not only strips her of agency or illusion of control, it shatters the image of the compassionate hero. The second best scenario would’ve been a Cato and Clove final two, which would still be quite the showdown and take some of the spotlight away from Katniss. The other characters that were not in a duo were Thresh and Foxface. I have a theory that Foxface realized the games were rigged and her likelihood of killing a duo and Cato after the rule change was basically zero, and that’s why she ate the berries. And in the movie, they basically insinuate that the mutts targeted and killed Thresh first, and that would make a lot of sense because not only he wasn’t interesting enough for the storyline the Gamemakers wanted to show, he made no effort to be likable in his interview, and most importantly, he let Katniss escape the Feast after killing Clove, and he did that for Rue, further cementing Katniss’s hero and ally image in District 11. The Gamemakers had every reason to rig the games. Also, and I think that’s the most obvious of them all, Ampert was reaped for the 50th Hunger Games and had to be mentored by his own father as retaliation for Beetee’s rebellion, and the squirrel mutts that killed Ampert were programmed to attack only him and not Haymitch, mostly in retaliation for Ampert enacting Beetee’s plan of bombing the arena’s water tank.

the reality of this is that Katniss is Snows daughter and he sent her there ,to get experience to take over the Capital as the new president

In Sunrise on the Reaping the book leads me to believe that #3 is correct. The game makers give every advantage to one person. In the 74th games, the one kid got armor during the Feast.

I thought Mag’s game was the 11th. Dr ghaul is feeding the squid mutt at the end of the songbirds and snakes movie and mags was from the fishing district EDIT- Woops you mentioned this literally after I posted this comment 🤣

Career alliance - probably, dumb plan though.  Mags in 11th games - good idea.  Gamemaker have favorites - of course they do.

Lightning for Betee, that’s how he won his games. Blood rain for Johanna or Wiress (I can’t remember) because she didn’t spill a drop of blood during her games. The big wave for Annie because of the dam breaking in her games. The spinning cornucopia for Haymitch / the morphlings turning to alc*h*l. (Etc)
