So basically the censored tape that Katniss and Peeta saw on the train.

can you talk about the symbolism in how Lenore Dove wanted a rebellion, and her adopted father made the pin that inspired the rebellion

6:27 a LOT of the 75th is highly reminiscent of the 50th games. tribute unity, attacking the arena itself (especially via the forcefield), the claw lifting a victor, etc.

i would love to learn more about the 25th someday

The people believe what the Capital tells them to

with this book and the original trilogy i can just think that there was never a live broadcast of the games. The time spent preparing, torturing and healing the victors could serve perfectly to edit everything and show it to the people as if it was live. so the people in the capitol barely have wait for the victor to come and greet them, even if they just saw their guts out on tv

hE wAs OnLy 16!!!! Haymitch!!!!!!

imagine if haymitch starts to forget some of the stuff that happens in the games. i don't think he would forget things like him watching lou lou, ampert, and wellie die, but i could imagine him jumbling up the timeline of his games and forgetting which day each thing happened on, believing the capitol's footage to be the truth. humans are not good at remembering things especially when they're being tortured so it would make sense

I think they might have shown the same number of tributes as they died correctly at that day but later edited the footage and been showing the edited footage so often that people became used to it and believed the lie. We ourselves might have our memories disoriented many times and some details dont add up and on top of that if being fed propaganda constantly even if someone remembered the correct order or way of deaths they might have persuaded themselves they dont remember it correctly.

Btw I was a little bit confused by Katniss´s retelling of those events in the Catching fire cause it was a little bit different on some details but it is just probably Katniss paid attention to different things while watching the footage.

The scooping up of a Victor with the clawed hand of the capital is how I imagined every game ended. To the viewer it appears like a helpful hand, but in reality it's the hand of the jailer.

This scene in the book hit me so hard.  I knew that the capitol was manipulating the games, but for some reason it didn't quite click how much they might have manipulated what was shown to the capitol and the districts during the games. People in the districts probably saw a completely different games then what actually happened, and despite all of Haymitch's efforts to show his family and friends who he really was, that is likely not what they saw. I do believe the game makers could only manipulate the viewing so much while the games were going on, as they would need to react to whatever was going on while it was happening, but even still they could definitely alter the events in any recaps the next day if something happened at night when everyone was asleep. I don't know, it's one of those things that really struck me when I read this book, and I'm still not fully certain how the capitol could cut out these moments while they were happening, but either way it makes me sad to think that the last images that Haymitch's family had of him was this rascal who cared only for himself

1:25  I quote this all the freaking time 🤣😭

Enjoy your homecoming ☺️😈 Bro Snow is so diobolical  in this lol 😭🤣

That dancing Snow at the end lol😂

4:12 diabolical lmao

maybe this is silly but after the movie is out i kinda hope someone will edit it to be as close to what the in-universe final edit would be like, it’d be interesting to be able to see the difference so literally like that.

You are killing me with the snow commentary.  All ways

"Have you ever met a horse, dude " 😂😂

You talk about how heavy Haymitch’s crown was and all i can think of is the new linkin park song heavy is the crown
