Next episode,Alex goes out for a car camp, arrives at destination then realises he's forgotten the car 😂😂😂

Ah, what a shame it wouldn't go down to a flat bed platform. Probably say that the manufacturer missed a trick, but it probably wasn't a thing back then... Great to see you in a new video, buddy 😊

Living the dream mate. Saying that you can't beat a Chinese take away, couple of Stella's and your own bed. I always look forward to your videos 😊

You were lucky mate, it’s Thetford, Norfolk, they still eat their young there!

Very strange the wheel arch been bent like that? You can't beat cooking in your car. I love it. Great video.

It’s the first gen CRV that has seats that fold flat, the second gen only somewhat flat. It didn’t look like you slid the back seats forward on their runners before dropping the back down - you might get it a bit flatter if that was the case so it missed the rear wheel wells a bit more.  Still wouldn’t really be comfortable, though. Also didn’t look like you switched the cooler on after putting the can in, even if you did put the air con on. There are videos of a guy in the states who did a good build with half the back seat out. Only problem with that in the UK is that it’s the right side of the rear seat that is best to take out as it’s wider - but then you have the steering wheel to contend with. I’m sure you will figure something out for a build. 👍🏻
‘In the OpenAir’ is the guy’s channel.

That screech you can hear is a squirrel...... The problem with sleeping on car seats, and this is the problem I have with my Peugeot, is that the seats are contoured for backs and legs so you get the rolls at the side which make it really uncomfortable for lying flat on. I pack out the dips in the seats with multiple blankets to flatten it out. It's just bearable for two nights!

This is the guy I was talking about; https://youtu.be/VabGYGs6sPo?si=jO3SGj5s16NDFEbe

I have a mk3 and you can put a single air mattress up over the seats and sleep like a king and I'm 6ft

Love these, but every single one, and I looked at the mots for dozens, have issues with severe rust underneath. You’ll be really lucky to find one with a clean chassis. Edit ** 😂 your’s has it too, but doesn’t seem too bad, I’ve read far worse**

Looking well dude. Hope u are well and pupster to

Surely the back seats would properly recline if you removed the boot cover & headrests?
Honda did make a much more useable car camper at the same time and on the CRV platform - but only in North America. It was called the Element. I have one of very few in the UK and have lived out of it for a week at a time. You might like to look up James May’s Top Gear review from 05. 🙂

I own one of these. Good but could do with a hi/lo box off-road (still, as it's only a part-time 4x4 - front wheel drive unless the comp decides to kick it into 4x4 mode for extra traction - I can't complain). It gives good fuel economy if you don't mind trundling along under 2000revs.

Those rear seats really should've been designed to go flat, not sure of their reasoning as to why they decided against doing so. Missed opportunity or design issue?

As to the picnic table.. Cool idea but should of been the parcel shelf as when you live out if it you've constantly to empty the back to use it (tends to be a now and again thing). And you don't necessarily want to unload everything just to use it, anyway.

Back door could use an internal door release. Not such a biggie to use a side door but would of been nice. Great to be able to open the rear window without the need to open the entire door but I would have preferred a drop down tailgait, as it's more useable than the swing opening one (again, no biggie, just personal preference).

Having the spare on the rear is much easier to access than underneath (and allows for a little space for recovery gear, or whatever, in the hollow beneath the picnic table - good use of space).

All in all, a good jalopy.

Edited because fat fingers.

These MK2's are brilliant cars, l had 3 & as long as you weld up underneath they will go on forever, so useful. I gave my last 07 to my son after his Rav4 dissolved & am looking for another, l viewed one last week with 260k on it and it was like a 50k car.

Hello.mate those rear seats fold forward. And then fold again so they  would be up and  next to front seat you might have space in the back/boot  then.. you might have to level it off with some 12mm plywood to cover the wheel well too. Good luck..

Great video, had Blair Witch Project vibes during the night. Hoodie ordered, looking forward to seeing the next episode.

I have tried sleeping in a few cars over the years and i have never had a good sleep. It's very much trial and error to figure the best outcomes.

Alex there’s some videos on utube about how to fold your seats. Maxx

Nice 🎉🎉🎉
