Frankfurt is an international important German City, a major traffic hub  in central Europe and location for international fairs, Germanys finance capital and after all ranked as an "Alpha World City", despite being not so large within city limits but connected to the wider Rhine-Main-metropolitan area with nearly 6 Mio people. As with many places in the world, its charme often only becomes apparent when you take the time to explore it at a leisurely pace. It offers an exciting mix of the skyline,  the medieval center around the Römerberg and the lively pedestrian area around the Zeil. It is a growing multicultural city with residents from all over the world. This means that not all Germans like the center for living, also because of the relative high costs for rentals. The area around the train station is, in fact, a bit seedy.
When I was the first time in Frankfurt some decades ago I had mixed impressions. But after coming back many times I like the charme of this city. The title of your video sounds like typical clickbait to me. ;-)

I don't hate it. And Frankfurt is really beautiful. But people always show the bad parts to define what Frankfurt is all about. There are plenty of beautiful places, events, and so on there, but those don't generate clicks.
It has a big club culture, good shopping places, nice parks, museums, really good restaurants with good local cuisine. Many cool conventions. A beautiful blend of historic and modern buildings and so on. Definitely worth a trip.

When considering Frankfurt, one must always bear in mind that it is not merely Germany’s fifth-largest city, but the heart of a vast, densely populated metropolitan region of around six million people. This region encompasses five other major cities—each with a population exceeding 100,000 (excluding Hanau, with just under 100,000, and Aschaffenburg, with 73,000)—yet barely one in eight residents actually lives within Frankfurt itself. Personally, I can easily spot the city on the horizon, and I can reach its outskirts by car in twenty minutes—without even driving particularly fast. To quote a general rule applicable to all major cities: "Close enough, yet far enough away..." Close enough to work there, to enjoy its cultural institutions and events, and to benefit from its status as a transport hub (featuring an airport, a major railway interchange, and various motorways that naturally converge in such a metropolitan region). Despite the problems that exist here—as they do anywhere else—there are far worse places to live. If I travel just 20 kilometers further east, I find myself in the area of an ancient mountain range—worn down by time to an elevation of less than 600 meters—where I can hike through dense forest all day long without encountering a single soul...

This ranking is absurd! The cities I’d most like to live in (if I had to choose one) would be Berlin, Leipzig and also Frankfurt/Main. The two cities where I definitely wouldn’t want to live, or even visit as a tourist, are Munich and Stuttgart. Frankfurt is so much more than just skyscrapers, banks and billionaires ...  🤦‍♂

You might like cities or not, but when I read "Some Germans would hate a city," I know it’s a case of deliberate exaggeration.
You can hate Trump, but not a city! Sorry, but I’m sitting this video out on principle.

1:50 and there's your answer right here.

love it and live in Frankfurt

I will not stand for this unwarranted Düsseldorf slander at 0:40!

I live in Frankfurt and I only hate it because i hate big cities. It's literally Europe's NYC.

Frankfurt might be too international for many Germans. Especially with the anti-immigrant sentiment and Berlin and Frankfurt having the most immigrants and internationals. There's no wondering why Germans don't like those 2 cities. Frankfurt is a bustling city. Work in the days, party in the nights. Renting an apartment is a challenge in its own right since searching for one could take a few days but actually getting to rent one could take a few months to a year. There's so much that even a 2 hour video wouldn't be able to cover half of it.

9:52 The „smuggling“ nowadays is, in terms of spatial volume, mostly rip-offs of high-price, high-quality products / wares, exotic animal, and fee-, tax-, duties- and tariff-evasion…

8:45 Trust me, you can spot the differences between a crack pipe and a hashish *joint*… or even a heroin cigarette… but the people using those usually prefer not to be seen doing so… also, the station itself is smoke-free… with lots of CCTV and police patroling… outside the building, across the road and around a corner, that‘s a different thing, admittedly. But if you go there, you learn which three to five blocks of Bahnhofsviertel to avoid really quickly, because usually the locals will tell you as soon as you simply ask them…

And what about Munich?

Berlin wäre richtig .

I dont think its that bad in total, but the combination of a big station, the brothels, banks and airport is just the perfect recipe for trouble. If that makes any sense.

modern Frankfurt am Main:
aesthetically - 0 points
ecologically  - 0 points
culturally       - 0 points
financially     - zeros and ones held together by the constant flow of electricity ... sure, bet your life on that!

Frankfurt? No way, go visit Wuppertal 😂

Multiculturalism has nothing to do with it. I love my birth town, but The place is a drug infested hell hole, rent is very unreasonable if you are lucky, Birds poop everywhere, the train station is an experience of all time. everybody tries to sell you weed there, but I don't like needles so I keep my distance from the main station. People slapping their arms is called Frankfurter Applaus here.

Everyone knows why like come on

Frankfurt smells bad
