Extenze’s sponsorship was like its product’s results. Flaccid.

Insane this was 7 years ago

"I got two pistols, one for each of you, give me what you owe me and we won't have to find out if they're loaded!" I like the cut of that contractor's jib.

"Everybody sued everybody and nobody won."

^Most civil lawsuits.

LW Wright has since passed away, lets pay our respects to this absolute madman

The dad who went to jail so his son could race and the random guy who ditched town after becoming a Nascar imposter are the biggest legends of Nascar

"To this day nobody knows where l.w Wright went" over 3 years later and they finally found him. L.W Wright has been arrested and put in jail.

To think that as of 3 May 2022, L.W. Wright came forward with everything. It's absolutely wild.

They know about L W Wright now! They found him about a year before he died when he confessed, and he died of cancer in prison.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a sound could be heard except for the FBI kicking down the door of DC Solar

I haven't watched Nascar since Ricky Craven's famous finish, but I love stories and these were an awesome listen.
Netflix better have something good with Haas' F1 debacle in Season 2.
And yes, LW is a total legend.

Extenze "pulled out" of NASCAR hehehe

I've learned that the worst owners and teams always roll out the best looking paint schemes

This reminds me of a quote from Spongebob,
“Why did you decide to do this?” “MONEY!!!”

Its a story thats been around since racing. When I was a youngster, we hardly ever raced on paved tracks, it was too expensive. We raced on dirt. Plenty in our area. We raced McGregor Speedway on Friday night, we raced Barberville ( called Volusia  County now ) on Saturday, and raced Satsuma ( changed to Lake County Speedway) on Sunday if there was anything left of the car. We finally raced Samsula Speedway, in a big race, and against any odds, finished second. Except the payout window had been closed before the race ended, and the promoter gone. Left Fla. in '79 and the track still had not reopened . I have seen races since on the same track, so I assume someone bought it and handle it correctly now. Called New Smyrna now.

DC Solar (effect on drivers and team wise) was the worst sponsor of all of NASCAR. Ruined Poole's career, and Chastain almost had his career ruined. Hate that.

I second what others have said.  I'd like to see a second part covering some of the others.  There was Angela's Motorsports, J.D. Stacy, Warner Hodgdon, Lycos, OXYWater, Arrowhead, Big Daddy's BBQ Sauce, 360 OTC, and Speed-Block (which is why DW ended up selling his team to Beverly in the first place).  There's probably even more I can't think of.

I worked for BK and Nemco at Arrington’s engine shop. I think everyone in the industry will agree that almost every team is run by questionable people

Imagine a company that literally relied upon the sun and yet was ensconced under so much shade.
The auction for all of the cars that DC Solar had amassed is taking place soon or has recently taken place in early Nov'19.

Lost it at the "discount ZZTop guy" remark
