Surprised there was no mention of Ryu/Evil Ryu and Akuma/Oni in Asura’s Wrath

Now we have Rose bathing in her SFV story

IMO I think the appeak of icebergs is the fact that these perfectly encapsulate the rabbit hole phenomena some dedicated fans experience with their faborite subjects. I myself know a whole lot of Spider-Man and Street Fighter for a decade of being online and really taking a deep dive to borderline obsession with anything I like so these videos are a good way to put someone in that mindspace for a bit on something they may have a passing interest on. That and I think that the structure of an iceberg is to show the more obscure trivia and that is always popular in internet browsing.

As for best SF game, I have to say that 3rd Strike is by far the best. Not just by its status within FGs but how it manages to mesh many things into one. Although it can be difficult to get the hand of it, it really is an easy game to learn and master, unlike USFIV that is easy at first but it has so many high tech mechanics that mastering it can take years of PvP practice. 3rd Strike has one of the most beautiful sprite work on a FG, second only to KoFXIII and the music really fits the time it came out, it is like a time capsule and the overall design of the game really makes it unique among others of the genre, even to this day. I also think that taking the world of SF into the next phase is something not many give it credit for. SF as a series is weird because it really does not have a unifying identity until SF4 but that was mostly a dream match game made canon.

SF started as a basic martial arts game that included a somewhat grounded cast of charicatures and few special powers, SF2 took it to a whole new level by making a more colorful cast and I appreciate SF3 for really committing to creating a new generation, going forward and expanding this odd world of unique fighters. We got mystery whatever Q is supposed to be, Illuminati, human experiments that combine powers of previous fighter, inhuman things, traditinal fighters and other niche culture's fighting styles. I do wish that SF6 continues and tries to be more new people and not just humans to expand the SF world as I think we have seen enough from the cast of SF2 and SF3 that it is time to move on and reinvent. I personally wish to see the classic characters change and grow into their more powerful forms and have the new generation cast be like a legacy character with similar moveset to please the OGs. Ryu becoming a master and adapting to taming the Satsui no Hado and have Sakura evolve as a fighter, to name one example.

One thing that I would like to add the SF iceberg is my personal trivia that Remy is actually Charlie Nash's son. Surely most of his background is based on Hyoga from the Saint Seiya anime, there are some things that point to the connection. For one, he has similar movesets like the flash kick and the one hand sonic boom. Might be a stretch but his Omega emblem could be a nod to the Alpha series where Nash is from, even if it was Zero in Japan, they have referenced stuff outside Japanese design in the series. He has resenment for his father abandoning his family, to which it could be that Nash had met someone in deployment and due to being killed, never returned. His sister has blond hair (though Capcom's default in character design in SF is mostly blonds).

I felt the same connection when i was reading the website bios and doing all kinds of digging of sf lore

Out of all the details, there was 2 pieces you blatantly missed in this iceberg and I was really hoping for them.

1. Street fighter 4 concept art. Usually concept art doesn't really show much except initial designs, but for the development of the new Characters in Street Fighter 4, they played around with a lot of designs, such as Rufus instead being a muscular black man, Abel being an androgynous boy, and El Fuerte with bulkier concept arts.

2. Jojo in Street fighter: While Capcom has made direct references to their Jojo arcade game in form of seth's instant punches in SFV, they had already made many jojo references that have been hidden in the Character designs. The first case is one of the original cast, with Guile being designed after Stroheim and Polnareff, then being named after Polnareff's rival as a joke: J. Geil, being spelled as Guile. Next in street fighter alpha, we meet Rose, who is designed after Lisa Lisa of part 2, hence the odd hair and magic scarf that seems electric, a reference to Hamon from the series, which conducts electricity by controlling breathing. It may also be why Rose always is designed with such a calm demeanor. We would see more designs after part 2 in Street Fighter 3, with Gill designed after Kars and Urien apparently designed after Santana, maybe why his location during encounters with him being Mexico, as this is where Santana is found in the manga. One of the final Jojo references before SFV is in Juri's design herself, with a bug motif that matches things from Jolyne. This is seen by the vest Juri wears and her hair. Her super even has her crying out "Ora Ora" which is also something Jolyne says being a daughter of Jotaro.
You also failed to mention the pose Seth takes when they use the punch move is a direct reference to the main villain of part 3, Dio.

I remember watching the Chun Li bath scene with my family XD lol we did not skip it

Another one I remember vaguely of, is the initial concept art for Abel. He was planned to still be male, but look ambiguous in gender. The philosophy was "having power in a place you wouldn't expect" so in this case, a feminine boy?

Good videos. Still Missing Zubaz (The unused SF2 fighter that became Super Best Friends meme) and Loli Abel Concept art

11:14 Do you want to know something more obscure about Norimaro? There are two moves removed for Norimaro; in one he fantasizes about a character and then shoots a stream of blood out of his nose, and the second was a kancho attack.

Kinda surprised you didn't mention that dan habiki is based off of ryo and robert from art of fighting and was ment as shade

I'm in class but you just made my Thursday already 100% better

no one's gonna mention how Rose looks like Lisa Lisa and she's probably inspired by her? In SFV reveal trailer it even proves it with the cards the art style looks really similar to Jojo's.

Bro if You make a part 3 can You make a point about asuras wrath like the DLC about evil Ryu and oni and also the canon final when they show the asuras wrath universe is connected to street fighter also the kage skin and finally G reference to Gaia and mana that is the power of asuras wrath

Wi-fi glue huffers...  I'm dead lol

Some of the trivia on the icebergs are cool, but some I think lead to a darker path lol.

I remember doing the haduken move on megaman x and my friends got their mind blown coz they thiught i was lying 😭😁

I had chores to do but it can wait

the voice clips from second impact sound a lot like elena to me

If you are including the Jackie CHan movie, there is a Hong Kong Movie called Future Cops https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_Cops which involved bunch of SF characters, but they didn't purchase the right from capcom, back when international copyrighting was not big I guess.

Also in Hong Kong there are comic series that claim to have the right from Capcom, but the story are totally unrelated.  Only had a rather short run though.

I’m surprised there’s no slam masters
