I actually need to issue an apology and retract a statement from part one of this series in which I suggested that we need snobs. I was using the word snob in a very colloquial British term not knowing that snob actually has a very problematic socio economic definition, and for that I am sorry.

From my experience with British family members saying the word snob for example, “Kathy is a food snob because she prefers making her Hummus at home rather than buying it at Tesco.” and “David is a music snob because he only listens to the Classics from 1983.”

Going forward instead of using the word snob for this opinion, I’m going to use the word diva as it conveys a sense of playfulness without the socio economic problematic aspect.

For example, “Nancy is a diva about lettuce preferring homegrown over store bought.” and “Daniel is such a diva about his eyeliner, preferring a deep blue colour as opposed to a sausage pink”

I would be LIVID if my “friend” called me accusing me of not tipping, to find out that he took the tip that I had provided.

The chef not doing his best makes sense to me. If I had no idea if I was actually gonna get paid or not that week, you can bet my butt isn't working 100%

My mum always says, that friends don't patronise their friends' businesses for free. Because they are friends we make sure we pay them because we want to support their businesses, not go and be a freeloader.

In case this helps: Gordon Ramsay did get a vocational degree in Hotel Management in 1987 from North Oxfordshire Technical College. Plus i'm sure his experience as a restaurantuer since 1998 helps in his Hotel Hell/Kitchen Nightmares endeavours.

I think Lux is trying so hard to be empathetic to Robert (commendable) but having seen these episodes before its a little comical that most of the grace you can lend to the guy slips away with each passing scene lmao Robert is the epitome of "he does not possess the vernacular he thinks he possesses"

13:19  no, he got caught stealing tips. Those guests left that money with him thinking he’d give it out to his staff. He didn’t do that. He knew he didn’t do that. He got caught in 4k. He blamed his friends for not tipping. Turns out that was a lie. They did, they left it with him and he took it. He doesn’t pay his staff, why would he give them the tips? He acts as though they are annoying for asking for the money they earned. Just their check. I’m so shocked that this doesn’t bother everyone more. He was crying because he got caught. Gay, straight, whatever… you do not get to treat people like this. He uses this “business” as a way to hoard antiques and have servants. That is extremely offensive. He hasn’t always been wealthy. He worked very hard to get where he is. He has been the person starting at the bottom. This is why he takes this so personally. People deserve their pay and they don’t deserve to be told if they don’t like not getting paid they don’t have to work here. That is appalling. Since it was so hard to get work back then, they had to just deal with it. Then, to find out they are fake…. This guy is a fraud. He does not deserve defending.

About antiques, the problem with them is by the way he is storing them I don't think they're going to be in pristine or near mint condition to fetch a good price anyways if it's real. The fact that it didn't cross his mind to bring in someone to authenticate before this as most would usually do with enough number in collection or with a painting that sold that high (since repros is always a problem) made me believe he really is that easy to fool. Working in hospitality business is no joke, let alone owning one and keeping up quality.

If they reboot this show, it would be fun if they hire live musicians to perform dramatic exit music every time Gordon storms out of a room. They could hover in a corner and step forward when appropriate. They wouldn't be waiting too long.
