Hello friends, this is one of the toughest docs we’ve ever covered on the channel. Feel like it’s a rollercoaster of emotions at times and that’s why we want to make it longer as there’s so much to cover and didn’t really want to leave anything out over the 4 episodes. Hope you all enjoy our coverage of it❤

At an ancient 34 years old, I was indeed around for page 3 and the constant sexualisation of women. It didn't feel normal to me, it made me feel very small and very unsafe. I couldn't understand why it was okay to have half-naked women everywhere, in ads and mainstream newspapers, and why it was so universally accepted. It felt like that was our only real worth. I went to an all girls' school, and even as young as 12 and 13, most of us were wearing padded bras and makeup and rolling up the waistbands of our skirts to make them as short as possible, because we really felt like we were only as good as the male attention we could get - which was really dangerous. We never got to see beautiful women or powerful women to aspire to, only sexualised women.

"Oh ur into documentaries?"
No im into cam kirkham documentary summaries

Women who did glamour modelling for page 3 and “lads mags” back in the day were called slags by a lot of men but if you were a woman who was against it, you would be called boring and frigid. We couldn’t win!

The sad thing is that Katie WAS beautiful before facial surgery. Hearing her say she was ugly ugly when her beautiful daughter Princess is the image of her, it is heartbreaking as what effect will that have on Princess.

When she ‘left’ her baby, he wasn’t just left alone in an empty house. It’s crazy, when you consider that many people in a similar position have their children literally raised by nannies! As far as I remember, it was her mother who looked after Harvey when Katie ‘left’ him. And as you say, Dwight had zero input, by his own choice

I really hate how people are still so clueless about hypersexuality. I really appreciate you covering this, Cam.

I think she might be more like Anna Nicole Smith than Kim Kardashian from my very limited understanding of her background and tragic life

it's sweet that you found it surprising that men were sexualising her as a young teenager but i don't know a single woman that wasn't. It's rampant and disgusting but sadly extremely common

71year old woman here … NO, the page 3 stuff was not acceptable. Most women boycotted buying the sun and it was down to women campaigners that eventually the sun dropped page three. It seemed that it was aimed at a certain class of men, not the finest. However, this seems to have been replaced on tv by many, many, completely uninteresting scripted reality shows in which both men and women wear virtually nothing.

older  woman  here,   we hated  Page   3, it  was  embarrassing  and   degrading  to women.   Look up  Clare Short,  an MP who campaigned tirelessly to get it   banned. She  was mocked and  pilloried  in  the press   and  described as "jealous"  because  she  did not look like  a Page   3   model.  I can  remember   visiting an  infants' school   for  a job  I had  at the time,  the painting  table  in the classroom  was  protected  by newspaper  which  was  the thing  at the time  and  some of the  sheets  had  Page  3  photos  showing!  I  was horrified and  reported  the  school but  that shows   how  accepted it was  back in  the day

It's not weird, as in unusual at all, for men to look at young girls the way they looked at Katie. It's actually the norm. And when it happens the girl is the one labeled negatively not the predatory men.

Katie saying she experienced CSA at 7 makes SO much sense.
That’s the age my sister’s CSA began and “Jordan” always reminded me of her. The hypersexualisation makes perfect sense.

Im 48 and I remember from the age of about 7 it was perfectly normal for me to sit at my Grandmas house and read the newspaper with the page 3 models in. Nobody batted an eyelid. Now I am someone who believes that a naked body is not automatically sexual. However page 3 was complete exploitation. It shocks me now how normalised it was. .

Hi Kam! Mature doughnut here. Girls being on tv in bikinis for no reason, the Sun page 3 girls and all the other misogynistic nonsense that has gone on in the press over the years never felt normal. It was cringe making, toe curling and uncomfortable for me as a child and then a teenager in the era of the Sun page 3 girl. I found it baffling. I can’t believe the Sun only stopped printing Page 3 girl pics in 2015!! Love your informed, balanced, kind and intelligent break downs. 😊

One thing to add about newspapers criticising her going out "all the time" when Harvey was little: I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the time she was working at those clubs, being paid for personal appearances.

Most people nowadays wouldn't criticise a mum for leaving kids with family while they went to work, and I don't think I've ever heard anyone suggest that a man is a bad father for leaving a kid with someone else while they go to work.

Never heard of her , but I’m here for the 2 hour video while meal prepping

Older woman here!! I remember it being so gross, as a young teen. My dad would get the paper and read it at the table and there’s girls not much older than me (at the time they were usually 16) with boobs out at the kitchen table.
I argued with him about it but he said he just bought it for the rest of the paper.

It was really weird the mental loops or just disregard to women not wanting to be around that

It was kind of well, it didn’t matter our opinion, this is how it is.

Oh and even worse they always would say “intellectual quotes” like making fun of how women are stupid and just for show

I just want to say I follow loads of reaction channels but what sets Cam apart, other than the Geordie accent, is that he’s always fair and empathetic. We need more people like that in the world today, especially people with a platform. Also he’s hilarious but that’s a given 😂

I am requesting more videos with you and Chloe though, Cam!

I'll give her credit for being extremely understanding of disabilities since her son, Harvey, has autism & prader-willi syndrome (a condition that causes you to never feel full after eating).
