Ma was definitely an evil person, and we can see how Toni turned out pretty bad as a result. However, he still made the choices himself as well.

So basically based off Tony in the sopranos

I'd say Toni is the second most evil GTA protagonist, right after Claude. Claude simply has no emotions towards no one, he would betray and kill anyone for money, while Toni has strong emotions for his mother and Sal. Toni has done worse things for sure, but I think the only reason that Claude didn't commit such a horrible acts like Toni did (for example destroying Fort Staunton) is simply because he wasn't given the job to. If he was given that job, he would do it without hesitation. Claude is a pure psychopath that doesn't feel any empathy towards anyone, I think nothing can be more evil than that. The biggest difference between the two is that Toni is influenced and raised to be the way that he is, while Claude is simply pure evil.

Toni was my favorite boss I worked for in GTA 3 and even though they didn't flush him out as well as I had liked in LCS and even that being said he might be my favorite protagonist or antihero as well.

It's kinda inspired from the Sopranos

what about claude speed from gta 2?

It's crazy because when you take a step back and look at the personalities of all the GTA protagonists, the likes of Tommy, Trevor, hell even Niko look way worse than Toni. But the missons Dead Meat and Bringing the House Down are way above anything they did. Only Claude Speed in GTA 2 comes close. If you know you know...
