I think the main reason Billy betrayed Johnny was that Billy hated the way Johnny ran the Motorcycle Club and their business and I also think that Billy became Jealous of Johnny because most of the Bikers actually accepted Johnny as their President rather than Billy even though Billy was the chapter President and this Jealousy makes sense since both Johnny and Billy grew up together.Billy's ego was also the reason!
Billy didn’t want to take anything seriously, anymore. He hit his peak on life, turned to drugs, and it got him into trouble. While paying for his mistakes, doing time on the inside, he became envious of the fact that the club could go on without him (while also paying for his mistakes). His ego couldn’t take it, so upon his return he tried to do everything his way, regardless of the detriment to the club.
Billy’s ego is what killed The Lost MC. I still think when Billy went to rehab he couldn’t handle the idea that Johnny was in charge and probably handled it better than what Billy did previously.
What I think was the ordeal behind the H deal was: 1. Billy hears through jim that the drugs belonged to the triads and thought of a plan to get rid of johnny - he went to the triads and told them something like "my right hand man is disloyal and took the drugs by himself, it had nothing to do with me", and asks them to kill johnny(as we see in tbogt). 2. After he leaves, a shootout starts with the triads trying to kill luis and tony. Luis was a very good shooter, if you consider the optional objectives in tbogt as canon, then in that mission he kills everyone with a headshot. And also, he uses a suppressed gun and the fight is inside the building, meaning anyone outside who heard gunshots nearby could tell they were coming from chinatown but didn't know where in chinatown, so someone called the cops to the area. 3. As the cops were looking for any activity, billy arrives with johnny, jim and brian. Billy sends johnny and jim into a trap, waiting for them to get killed. After the gunfight starts, both johnny and jim run outside to the rooftops, where the gunfire was very audible to everyone in the area, including the cops. It was at this moment that billy wanted to tell brian about his plan, but before he could do so, the cops arrived. Both of them freak out, with billy thinking and shouting that johnny set him up with the police due to how fast they arrived. They try to escape, but billy crashes his bike. And brian being the coward he is, abandons billy. Billy then gets busted by the cops, which Johnny and jim witness.
In gta 5 we see some of the original lost mc members in gta 5 one in random missions with dead police officer and two in the mission where we go to los Santos with wade, the original lost mc members talk about billy and the club house in liberty city
Have a question what if the whole gang realize what Billy was trying to do and realize what he’s doing was not right and what if they all were against him?
TLAD is the blueprint for RDR1 and 2, absolutely. Johnny's like a prototype for some of the narrative arcs both John and Arthur go through, along with having extentsive similarities with John, Johnny's also similar to Arthur too, because the Lost meant everything to Johnny, just like Dutch's gang had to Arthur, so imagine how betrayed and sad Johnny was after Brian and Billy got most of the Chapter to betray Johnny when he became CP and how he felt when the chapter officially died. The Lost betrayed Johnny same way as most of the remaining Van Der Line crew betrayed John and Arthur. Additionally, Arthur's depression during Chapter 6 mirrors Johnny's depression after Jim died, and his state in 5 is proof of Johnny's depression. I think ultimatley though, the fault is 40% Johnny's, and 60% Billy's; Johnny got Lost MC members killed because he crossed Ray and Trevor, as well as himself, while Billy got members killed for not one but two wars based on ego, one against his own brothers and another against rivals, both which Billy instigated, and again, Johnny too brings the Lost into wars the gang couldn't win as well. (It's possible that the Lost did wipe out the Angels though, judging by the scale of their influence and weapons in 2013, they were certainly a dominating crew in the Alamo Sea's underworld. Johnny and Billy both messed up but Johnny was the better leader because he acttually cared. Lastly, I consider the second chapter that Trevor takes on as Billy Grey supporters, basically last members of 'Brian's faction', so I can't give two shits about them honestly.
Crazy to say that the character with least screen time and being wheelchair bound is the realest out of the whole club.
Billy WAS the real reason, the hour he got released he went on a killing spree for his bike and shit on the truce which has been made by Johnny in-charge and the rest of the club.
Billy basically took a shit on everything Lost MC made right.
