I am so surprised to learn that the mandatory drinking parties are not free! I always thought that the boss or the company would pay for them. How terrible is it that you feel forced to do something you don't want to do, and also have to pay for it!

It called my attention that you say that you were a lazy girl in pajamas just because you were not working at 10 pm. Girl, you are NOT lazy at all. You deserve to rest and enjoy time off work. For what I see here, you seem like a very hardworking and responsible individual. We gotta change that mentally, cuz you already doing you best! ❤

Just be careful with your comments about your work and co workers in case they watch this. It is terrible you are working such long hours. Like you said in your last video try to work for an international company and hopefully you will get a better work / life balance.

It's criminal how companies underpay their employees. It shouldn't be that hard to live if you are a middle class

This is really eye opening- when you said you worked 12 hours and normally you'd be working longer. I was in Japan few months ago, I would see office workers and students returning from their work/tuition in trains at 11pm, carrying huge bags, while I'm heading to the hotel for sleep. It was a shocking scene, I could see the tiredness in their eyes.
As for food, although I'd want to eat fresh food everyday, I don't have time to do so. I usually meal prep for a week on my day off and put food in freezer in individual containers, that way I can take one out to defrost for next day's meal. See if you can do that, it really saves a lot of money and energy.

Huge respect for you for able to live through own daily hardships

The Japanese work culture is one of the major things keeping my brother from moving to Japan. He was offered a transfer within his company but it would be for less pay and more hours so he passed on it. Instead, he just flies to Japan for vacation two or three times a year instead.

I can't believe that arriving home from work at 21:30, when you work “office hours”, is considered arriving home early…crazy! 😢

The frustrating part about Japan is this “Mandatory drinking parties”. UNIQLO CEO Yanai san, In a recent interview, was pretty turned off when the interviewer excitedly talked about “Drinking Parties” to which Yanai san frowned and pretty much said why waste time like that. I totally agree with him.
