How early is too early for an autumn patchwork project?

I have decided to dig into some scrap fabric projects and my very first patchwork seemed the natural place to start. Through out this make I changed my mind on what I was doing CONSTANTLY! But I suppose that's the nature of trying something for the first time 😅

Even though I left it out of this one, I still really want to try out some "Frankenstein" style patchworks soon! Let me know if you have any ideas of what I could use it for 🖤

i really like that you made it reversible - that's 2 skirts for the effort of 1 skirt! you changing your mind on what you were going to do several times is very relatable too

If you do another patchwork garment you should sew it like foundation paper piecing but with a fabric base instead of paper. That way you're patchworking and lining the patchwork at the same time so you don't have to worry about zigzaging all the raw edges

I'm also working on a patchwork skirt! But I've made it the Worlds Hugest Project (TM) by making it maxi lenght and very twirly and there's so many patches in it! and I've dyed all the fabric because it were from a bunch of odd scraps so they are all different shades of purple. Zig zag-ing the edges it taking forever but I'm soon onto ruffling the teirs and then joining them together (and remembering the pockets! still haven't tackled those).

The fastest, most fun way to use up scraps: crazy quilt. I have a vintage (maybe antique?) crazy quilt top I bought awhile back. It's absolutely incredible! Unfortunately, a lot of the fabric is too delicate now to be used as a blanket, but I want to make a tapestry out of it.

Gorgeous! It reminds me of this reversible Cinderella-esque doll I had as a child that had a patchwork dress, but if you turned her upside down and flipped up her dress, it turned into a doll wearing a ball gown with fancy hair. I'm glad your sewing machine is fixed.
