Very well said, I agree with practically everything you brought up! Thanks for the shoutout and looking forward to more playthroughs and discussions around this game (and the SPEEDRUNS!)

"And I have watched Ascension...twice!"

WE ARE NOT WORTHY

Can we just commend this man on being able to admit he’s watched Ascension… twice?  👏

DEF the worst part of Townfall is the lack of weirdness, shock, and design creativity. nail on the head.

Bawk, I really wish you would do more YouTube videos. You do a really good job of voicing your opinions in a way to where even if I don’t fully agree with it, I respect it.

My biggest gripe is how endings are locked to being less aggressive. Most people will get the Abandoned ending on their first run, I played as stealthy as I thought I could and got as many collectibles as possible, I don’t want to do another much slower playthrough when the novelty has already worn off.

It definitely pains me to think of the cool enemy ideas they could've made using elements like oil, water, fire etc

You’re definitely not wrong, came to play Silent Hill and didn’t realize I was gonna be playing Outlast with a small splash of Silent Hill instead.

That big enemy is like the #1 worst thing everyone complains about, inconsistent insta kill enemy that spawns and teleports right in front of where you need to go every time to draw out progress. Outrageous.

In my restless dreams I see that RE9 review...

I wish Bawkba would review MORE games! He always has a balanced and fair take that seems pretty rare these days when everyone else is being exaggerative in their reviews for engagement.

I love these videos you do Bawk, said it before on the last one you did in your twitch, keep up the good work dude!

You're becoming a GOAT at making Youtube videos too Bawk, impressive narration and exposition.

Honestly I think my big pet peeve with silent hill recently is that they heavily lean on Silent Hill being a phenomena rather than as you say, have connections to the other games. Like the fact 4 had a lead in by a note from a game that came before was something I liked and of course the connections to the cult are really nice. I always loved the idea that people were drawn to Silent Hill for one reason or another.

Even an expert superfan struggled with Townfalls final puzzles LMAO

The Weight is horrible with the camping outside every room.

Watching Ascension twice has to be a world record.

0:42 Oh my god what a LARPER dude

Just kidding obviously

My main gripe with the stealth in this game has become the enemy patrols. I felt like the game wanted to inconvenience me as much as possible at every possible opportunity;  even when you've got the enemy pattern down, you gotta wait forever for the enemies to drag themselves into position and maybe do a little dance.

The first third or so of the drug collecting segment was hell for me because I committed the grave sin of not going to the second floor first so I didn't know where the drugs were. That segment necessitates you knowing the potential location of all drugs alongside learning the enemy patrols, or you're gonna spend forever scouring every single room "just in case." I did this to myself, but still.

I didn’t play the game, but from watching bawk play, I totally understand and get the gripe with the endings requirements, playing through normally gets one ending then finding out certain number of kills gets a different and finally no kills a different ending.  To me it should be more based on how much you found and how many “secret” items are found/combination of certain items. It would make more sense with Simon’s amnesia. I understand that it is basing on Simon’s “aggression” though it makes the game artificially harder than it needs to be especially if you get trapped in a small walk way by an enemy.
