American here … I tipped the bus driver for getting my luggage out from underneath and he said “what the f*** is this for?” 😭 I apologized and he said “what the f*** are you sorry for?” 😭😭😭 I didn’t know what to do. I was so confused 🤣
The thanking the bus driver part reminded me of something an Irish bus driver said to me once. I said thank you and he said : that’s ok lad, I was going this way anyway. Hahahaha
The washing machine thing. You know you've hit it big when you're looking at houses with a good utility room. Washing machine and tumble dryer and/or washing lines inside. And my favourite, the sink for dirty things. Usually has a door out into the garden and if your boots are muddy you go in the house that way. Take the wellies off and put them into the dirty sink.
Nothing gets me more excited than a good utility room.
A French tour guide talked trash about every country’s cheese but when he came to the Irish group said ‘irish cheese is commensurate to French cheese’. That is the highest compliment you can get from a French man 😂
As an autistic person, I love the trope of Americans not understanding other cultures. It feels like therapy, watching neurotypicals struggle with social norms they don't understand
Garron, in my state we have basements so we wont die, because the sky wants us dead. We have a tornado season here, and tornados have a love for ripping homes off the ground and throwing them a few miles. If you are below ground level when that happens, you are almost always generally safe.
