I love that someone cloning themselves and climbing out from their own spine wasn't the limit of belief for Rizzo, but extra space behind the walls is

This movie really stayed with me. After watching it I went up to the mirror and said "you look AMAZING" 😂

In addition to commenting on women's self-image, I think this film also addresses relationships between older and younger women. Almost immediately, Elizabeth resents Sue for the attention she is getting and Sue sees Elizabeth as someone she must crush in order to excel in her career. Older women have constantly been painted as villains by fairy tales (witches, wicked stepmothers, etc.) and I think it's terrible that girls are taught not to trust or confide in women that are not their biological mothers.

The director herself said in the end Elizabeth was happy because she didn’t have a body anymore.

When Eli didn’t go on her date, I legit had to just cry bc ugh it’s so real it reminds me of so many opportunities I wasted bc I thought I was so ugly and not worth it

For me, as gross and disturbing as this film was, the scene that hit the hardest is when she's about to go on that date. Going back, checking her appearence, adding more, adding less, and finally tearing it all apart. As a woman who has struggled a lot with body dismorphia and my appearence/self worth, I felt that shit in my soul. It's painful and is something I still try to avoid doing on a daily basis. Great film, loved the reaction!

The fact that this didn’t get any Oscar nominations for sound is a CRIME!

The final moments of Elisasue are so tragic to me because before she's put back under the public eye, Elisasue loves herself. What's the most monstrous, scariest thing to beauty standards and the media? A woman who loves herself and is comfortable in her body...
You're the first people I've seen understand that this is an alternate reality entirely from the weather alone, I've seen so many people get into long debates about the contradictory fashions and technologies without once thinking "oh this is another reality".

I'm glad someone finally said it, the 18-30 casting call seemed crazy to me. It seemed like they would want someone 18-20 so they can use that person for DECADES

The snow in the beginning is supposed to be the first moment that is supposed suspends your belief in reality.

I would have lived my best life as a crazy, youthful party girl and then embraced my older version and live like a cottage witch hanging with older forest hippies or something.

This movie takes what society needs/wants women to be and exaggerates it in the best way! This is what it feels like. Not just how we feel about ourselves at times, but also how others treat us. There are so many moments that really encapsulate how we are viewed in such a twisted yet emotionally accurate way. For example, when  the audience and crew didn’t see what ‘monstroelisasue’ actually looked like, because she had a fake smile slapped onto her face. Nobody sees the mess we may sometimes feel inside, because all we have to do is fake a smile, and everyone thinks we’re okay. Once we remove that facade… everyone is terrified of what’s actually underneath…
Anyways thanks for coming to my ted talk :)

Got a car commercial during this that said “style or substance…?” and I almost threw my phone across the room…

amanda the jedi was right, showing this movie to people really looks like the 'haha yes sicko' meme

PERFECT timing. Just finished Zzavid and Jay's reaction to this, and now you guys?? Best Friday night ever!

I'm glad these two men get this movie ❤

The close up shots of Harvey reminds me of when men have invaded my personal space in my life, so I always felt like this choice was deliberate, this film is not subtle at all but it's what I love about it! Also Sue looking like she stepped out of Euphoria High School makes me so happy every time! The satire of the male gaze is so well done 💖

I'm so obsessed with the score too and how sexualised the tracks are.

"I wonder if I ever looked this down bad" shall I direct you to the scooby doo videos, rizzo?

I made the mistake of showing my best friend this movie… she threw up when she got home. 😭

The break is no problem! Glad you’re back and safe. I did not expect this movie to be as moving and incredible as it was! Demi and Margaret were incredible!
