Lupa: Is this a scary movie

Roshi:  "No.🗿"

Lupa: Are you lying to me?

Roshi:  "No.🗿"

The use of two characters to portray self hatred and self sabotage was incredible.

1:13 Poor Lupa, so innocent.
Lupa: Wait, is this a scary movie? 😰
Roshi: ....... No.

I think a big part of this movie's message that goes unappreciated, is that it comments on how much damage being "afraid" of ageing can do you. You gotta honor your growth while respecting your inner child & vise versa. Elizabeth hates herself, so she hates Sue, and Sue hates what she is bound to become. It's a genius movie once you really dissect it

The most unbelievable part was Sue's DIY home renovation skills lol

the crazy part is demi moore at 62 playing a 50 year old woman.. that's how good she looks

Poor lupa got roped into a horror movie without realizing😂. Can’t wait until you post smile 2 lupa was asking for so many breaks

Demi Moore was so vulnerable in this role in the best way - shoutout to her

You know what's really sad? The only point in the movie where Elisabeth looks TRULY happy, is at the VERY end when she no longer has a body. She's just a puddle. Like, she couldn't be happy with her body, so it wasn't until she lost it that she finally felt "satisfied" with herself.

1:11 THE LIIEEESSSS 😂😂😂 made me lock in real quick

Lupa most outta pocket comment 21:20

NGL seeing Sue kick that fucking door down must mean them workout videos work.

I know the jokes about her having an easy life are easy to make, but I think that's a big part of the point. She is a white, able-bodied, healthy, wealthy woman living in, presumably, LA or a nearby area. And she still wants to do this. She still feels like she has to, even though she's got all the advantages in the world.

All this talk about getting revenge on the other self, taking back some of the time, remember that the film constantly tells you that they are ONE. She's doing all this to herself, not to some other person, and any revenge would still be inflicted on herself. The whole film is an allegory of the self-hate that happens and turns one into a monster in the futile quest for perfection and youth.

The mirror scene where she was confident at the beginning to go out and have a fun date then gradually grows insecure more and more is so sad and relatable 😢😢😢

It's interesting to see the difference in reactions between the guys and Sheera in the scene where Elisabeth is changing for the date at 29:05. This scene is always more significant when you see how women react to it.

Damn Roshi tricked Lupa into reacting to body horror

52:33 yes, the substance is a commentary on a lot of things women specifically face every day, namely ageing - how society perceives and treats you as you age and how you perceive and treat yourself as you age! that's why it was a sad watching experience but I did giggle a few times watching you guys' reaction :) also, this is just how I took it, but I think the scene of elisabeth and sue being awake at the same time represents how disconnected they were with each other by the end. sue turned into bob the builder just so she didn't have to look at elisabeth anymore as she was a constant reminder of the body she so desperately wanted to rid herself of... thank you for the reaction!!

The climax reminds me of everyones reaction when an actress gets bad plastic surgery. Everyone around them forces them to get it then treats them with disgust when the botox is botched

Funny story, Universal was supposed to distribute this movie but they saw it and deemed it unreleasable and sold it to Mubi for $12 million. Movie comes out makes a ton of money and becomes a cult classic; Universal fumbled bad lmfao😂😂😂
