There is a fellow in the US that teaches low speed motorcycle operation using skills he learned as a motorcycle cop, and he teaches it on youtube. the things he teaches should be applied to off roading with these larger bikes like the GS. he emphasizes preloading the bike and controlling the speed with the clutch and the rear brake, the idea behind it is that your bike wants to stand up when its under power. most people who drop their bikes do so while doing low speed handling or stopping with the front brake. The mans youtube is called be the boss of your motorcycle if you are curious. Iv’e been riding since the 1970’s and never knew what I was doing wrong or right befor watching his videos and now know what iv’e been doing wrong and what iv’e been doing right Cheers to everyone out there and be safe.

You don’t have to stand up on all loose surfaces. Part of the skill of off-roading is knowing when to stand and when it’s unnecessary.

Nice autobahn

Stick it in gear, put the front wheel on the opposite lock to you and use the handle bar to lift it up. It’s a much easier way of lifting them up. More leverage.

I heard him say:" lets go through, lets see what happens ". A few moments later we can hear him sing. We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine etc.

You only got to see long way round with Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor  to see how competent off road the GS is , remember watching it thinking they were crazy using a massive BMW

I've seen that lifting technique done with a GL1500 Goldwing - mind you the owner was a big guy !.Only recent to your channel but thoroughly enjoy the varied content .

Loved that ❤water crossing was epic 😎🤘👌❤️

Just found your videos…looks like was a great fun ride…nice to see a GS in its natural environment! Have a 18 R1200GSA, with Michelin knobbies amazingly capable in the dirt, treated with respect…have fun! I totally get it.

Well done, it has a lot of merit, especially for doing it with tires...mmmh...congratulations!

In the states we ride those trails on sport bikes.

Thanks!

Absolutely brilliant watch all the best

Sick!!!

A great wee video and what a buzz going through the ford at the end. Really enjoying your content, keep it coming. ATB Big Dave Scotland

Good vid!  Who makes the windscreen kit?

Great video buddy. Really enjoyed it 😊👍

I only went green laning once on my R100GS in 2005...It was a lot worse than this vid because the tracks were just mud lanes between hedges and no gravel...I went really slow and was overtaken by all the group on little light weight trail bikes...I wouldn't do it again...I still have the bike...She's still chugging away

Sorry I commented on this at work before I had watched it.
Thanks for showing the GS in its true light, great ride especially the ford.
I’m pretty sure owners of new GSs will be watching this wishing they had an old one for off road.
I have a 2002 R1150GS & a 2005 R850R both DIY maintained.

I’ve taken my R1100R (cruiser model) off-road with off road tires. They’re not bad
